What would posses you to go bombing mountain roads mid-day in an old Volvo that looks to be held together with papier-mache?

Wow, thank goodness they didn't hit the good side.

All kidding aside, this reminds me of the ratty Volvo/Volkswagen kids with that "don't give a shit/get out of my way" attitude. Hopefully your friend's insurance will rape him for making such a stupid move like that. Don't poke fun at 240's, they were/are damn good cars that operate perfectly fine if a.) taken care of and b.) driven with sense. This is a perfect segue to my next thought.

WTB: Volvo 240, rust-free, mechanically sound, <$2000, within 200 miles of me. PM me if you have one.

i was fully prepared for a good flaming for posting this, but how many people can honestly say they havnt done something stupid while driving. im not trying to make any excuses for anyone. it was a bad idea to go fast on a road like that, which is why we slowed down, but apparently not everyone did.

i also know that 240's arent bad cars. my brother was in front of me in his and didnt wreck. his car was really beat up, and he wanted to "drive" it because he just got it running.

so all jokes/kidding/excuses aside. im sure everyone will be compensated as much as possible for their losses. this really opened my eyes, as my 18 yr old brother was with him and could have died, not to mention the people in the jeep and the guy in the audi. i guess this is one of those things that you would call a learning experience, and i will definately look at it like that.

At least it doesn't look much different than it did before.

                                Shit happens.

                                Luckily nobody was hurt.
