Much of it is in the Rockies, and traditional methods tend to rip up the area (think strip mining, then dumping the extra shale in giant piles.) However, development of alternative methods of extracting it (already in the works) that are environmentally friendly are in the works... I think it's pretty short-sighted and stupid. I'm wondering where the motivation to extend this ban is coming from.sigpic89 M3Comment

You can only get so much water out of a garden hose, having it connected to the ocean does not make more water available at the other end.
