Here in NC, we're building more refineries, since Gulf Coast gets raped every year.

Also, this has to be faced, US has a huge amount of reserved fuel, crude and refined. Also we have to remember that not too many things other than transportation, run on oil. This is directly seen in the past few months when people stopped driving as much. Most of the oil byproduct companies are oversees anyway, since unions deemed all those jobs dangerous.

Basic supply and demand curve is all the gas prices are. Americans were willing to pay $4 per gallon, and they sold it at that price. The more electric/hybrid cars are on the road, the cheaper gas will get.

I am glad to hear they are increasing production. Look at this chart, under 2k barrels per day increase in production since 1990:

This might be a little radical. But what if a bunch of hardened Americans went into the west and secured this shale oil and started drilling on it.

The government will show up with soldiers and try to take it back, but the media will be there and the whole world can watch a bunch of nut jobs take back a piece of America. This action would embolden other Americans and a cascading effect would take place and the new revolution would start.

The way this nation is going soon it will be time to stand up and fight back or we will have nothing left. Sitting here and talking about how fucked up it all is accomplishes nothing.

Its time to start forming the militias and making plans. Thank our forefathers and for being a bunch of radicals and nutjobs who got us this country in the first place. Now its time to do ii again.

"But you must remember, my fellow-citizens, that eternal vigilance by the people is the price of liberty, and that you must pay the price if you wish to secure the blessing. It behooves you, therefore, to be watchful in your States as well as in the Federal Government." -- Andrew Jackson, Farewell Address, March 4, 1837
"They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." -- Benjamin Franklin, Historical Review of Pennsylvania (1759)
