State parks would be a sweet gig. Im trying to get in with fish & game in the next year hopefully. I just need some more units before Im eligible.
State parks is a tough gig, pay is shit, out in the middle of nowhere by yourself with meth and pot growers all over your park or on some gang infested beach in the LA area.

Fish and Game isn't much better but at least you aren't stuck in one small area.

    Good luck man.

Really? That sucks, Ive heard from a few F&G wardens they enjoy what they do, and a couple rangers here locally say its not all that bad. The dunes here are the place to be, its just a bunch of camping partiers with their ATVs or lifted trucks. Overall its pretty mellow, or appears to be from the civilian standpoint. Id like to get involved with something along the lines or propogation of corals and fish, but thats more of a 'dream'. The F&G is more of a realistic opportunity it seems.

If you like it in the Pismo area try to get on with some local agency, that way you'll know where you will be and you'll make more money.
