but see, the argument is that the people in the higher tax brackets will fire the people in the lower tax brackets because they can't afford to pay their salaries any longer

the lowest brackets won't really be affected though, since those jobs aren't going anywhere. The middle class are really those who need to be cautious here, but now that the damage has been done...

I do favor more government control. Too bad that relates to fascist Germany for most people.

The people that need help are those that truly cannot help themselves. My aunt runs a mental care/ elderly home and I am friends with several doctors that help care for these people. Americans brush those in need off to the side while being worried about getting their's.

You mean the guy that is working this job as he works his way through college. Oh ya, great comeback buddy. I'll let you know how things work out when I finish my degree next month.

Seeing that I am 22, married, graduating from UW with my accounting degree, own 3 cars, am already pouring money into my 401K, and will be buying a house in the somewhat near future I think I am doing ok.

Pretty sure that puts me on track for your big $100K benchmark you've got setup.

They may agree, but what policies do they enact to make things better for the lowest of the low? These people don't know what a tax credit is, nor can they shop for insurance. At least they will never be able to get over their head with an ARM.

I believe in more government control because when decision makers are allowed to run free they rape the market and consumers, then grin when the government comes to save them with a new ship as the old one bubbles into the depths.

For libertarian thoughts on government, the FUNK is touching on it. Guarantee the basic requirements that a national government ought to provide, like national security and borders, and law & order for property, rights, and life... and then leave us alone.

Leaving people's money alone and leaving their lives alone = pretty small government.

But the problem is that no government wants to see its influence decrease... no agency wants to see its jobs cut because they are not needed anymore.

The problem is clowns like you who refuse to acknowledge the glut of extenuating circumstances standing between you and your Utopian vision of unfettered hands-off capitalist glory. A good amount of those circumstances can be traced back to the current administration in some way, shape or form.
