DM rocks! I took my fiance (now wife) to see them when they were in here in ATL about three years ago. I have been listening to them my hole life and the finally experienced them live was when I was 30 years old.
It was deffinetly a moment! An amazing girl and DM. Must have been why I asked her to marry me.Randall Racing and Engineering

They have a few good songs.
"Policy of Truth" is one of them.
I'm an old guy, so 80's music is more my style then most of the stuff being played nowadays.sigpic

All of us have to do that.
The reason FM radio sucks so bad is because in the late 90's it was a tool used to sell alcohol to 30something guys. That's why we were plagued by bands like Nickleback, Creed, and Lincoln Park. Not that I care, of course.

Back in 1982, I found DM to be too sterile and much prefered Human League, Gang of Four, The Stranglers, Psychedelic Furs, Siouxie, PIL, New Order/Joy Division or even this "new" American band from (I think) Boston.
They were called - Ministry

Overall, "more serious" electronic alternatives to DM were New Order, Heaven 17, BlancMange

And the spirit of the early DM, Vince Clark, otherwise know as Yazoo

And let's not forget the band that created the whole movement, back in 1973: Kraftwerk. They are the foundation to anything electronic, including hip hop. The first hip hop track "Planet funk" from Afrika Bambaata was a rip-off from Kraftwerk's Trans Europe Express. Most initial electronic funksters will recognize Kraftwerk as an major influence. DM and all the followers too.
