    Historic day

Today's a very important day in the US history. Be part of it, whoever you vote for. In 50 years, don't tell your grand children you flaked out on November 4, 2008.

Vote now. Or shut up for the next 4 years.

Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

And for God's sake, knock off the "historic day" bullshit. It's an old tired white guy vs an empty suit puppet running on the same Carter-era rhetoric they've clung to for 40 years.

Wow. It looks pretty much like you're a pretty weak and insecure person if you have to react like such a dick.

So, back on topic. Did you vote today dear sir? Will you vote?

              Hi Charlie.

Todays elections go way beyond picking a Dem over a Rep, or vice-versa. There's a dimension that many Americans still don't get and that hasn't been seen in the political environment for 40 years.

It all started with picking between a man and a woman (Obama vs Hillary Clinton), and then between black and white. In fact, colour of skin makes no difference, except for racists who still have fears hidden since the slavery days. Its also a fight between an educated man with proper understand of social, economic and political things, and the good old fashion political bullshit.

This is JFK and MLK on one side, and Richard Nixon on the other. And all that, after eight years of Bushism that has brought the US back in the dark ages. So, yes. It is an historic day. And hopefully a new era.

I couldn't agree more - even if you're our northern neighbor and can't actually participate in our process. The right to vote is a unique and special one. There are a number of countries in this world which don't even have elections so the citizens voices are never heard. My motto for those Americans who say "my vote doesn't count", if that's going to be your attitude, you just waived your right to bitch about all things politics for the next four years. Get out and vote or STFU!

Oh yeah, I voted for Pedro :-P

I can't tell if you're being facetious, or if you actually believe that drivel. Obama couldn't hold MLK's jockstrap.

And, well, I know Canadians aren't quite as quick, but he's not running against Bush. He's running against McCain, who himself ran against Bush, you know, in 2000. And nearly again in 2004 as Kerry's running mate.

My vote doesn't count. Anyone who is semi well-educated will tell you that. I'm not in a swing state. My vote for obama is as good as writing in Raleigh Theodore Sakers.

I'm still going to vote though - just in case.

Massive, I think you have it backwards. So far, Obama's the only one to try to hide stuff this election. And don't forget, JFK started us on the road to Vietnam by sending in advisors and military equipment. He also had aircraft circling during the Bay of Pigs invasion. When the rebels conducting the attack came under fire, he ordered the aircraft to continue circling and broke an international promise.

And John McCain is a looong way from Richard Nixon, read his books. Or look at his accomplishments and service. I hope that Barack's stint as President goes well, because it will be the longest position he has ever held in his life.

Also, I'm not sure I would compare Barack to JFK and MLK, given how both the initials met their end. That would really start riots throughout the world.

edit: You should still educate yourselves on local propositions, then vote for those. Realistically, those will affect you far more than the President (though you might lose your job thanks to Uncle Sam, but at least you'll get a small check as a consolation prize.)

Vote McKinney. She's crazier & Blacker than Ron Paul.

HAR! If you don't have a candidate to vote for, then don't vote. Anyone telling you to shut up because you didn't vote (specially when you may have no one to vote for) is a tweeker.

We are fucked either way. Or we are fucked both ways. Which ever you like.
