Oh give it a rest, with the "liberals" talk, I grew up a military brat, dad was a fighter pilot, I am currently following on the same path. I am an independent who is voting intelligently and not by an R or a D. Dont be so dramatic, it is 4 years, the country is not going to fall apart. Do you think it could be worse than the last 4-8 years? We have an intelligent man who was chosen by our own citizens. Get used to your new boss and respect the office.

Easy there tiger, that wasn't directed at you. You, as the self-thinking man, should have known that, but I'll go back and edit it for you. And no, the country is not gonna fall apart. But there's gonna be a lot of disillusionment when he fails to live up to the bar he set for himself here at home and abroad.

Everything he wants to do has to be initiated and passed by Congress, and the kinds of bills he will try to push through will get beaten up, and if they ever get passed will be a shell of what he intended them to be, with earmarks accounting for most of the bill. This isn't any fault of his, or the Democrats specifically, it's how the country works, and was set up to work.

Time will tell where we are after the Bush terms. I agree, I'm no fan of him but we're too close to them to dispassionately judge them. After 4 years, then we can look back. If it's still a failure (and I think they will be, but not quite on the scale people think they are now), then so be it.

And by the way, don't assume I voted along Republican/Democrat lines for the sake of it. Obama's too inexperienced, I don't agree with his economic policy, his vision of national health care, a "civilian defense force", his taxes on oil companies, and his "bankrupting" of coal. (his words, not mine.) If you had been paying attention, you would see I've posted things in praise of Obama, for certian things he's done or said. His dealing with his illegal aunt comes to mind, I was pleased with how he handled that situation and pointed it out. He's an incredibly smart man, well-learned, and I have nothing but respect for him and the office he now holds.

And good luck on your military career.What route are you persuing to get there? AF, Navy, or Marines?
