Police Scanners - anyone here use them?

So you guys are claiming you never speed? I don't see anything wrong with speeding, but I don't think you should weaving wildly through traffic going 90+ miles an hour.

I think these scanners are pretty cool. I've always just used my internal scanner ie: my gut feelings about things. Its worked out really well and its totally free.

I have been phoned in once, fortunately the officer didn't catch me speeding when stopped me to inform me that they had received a call about a car matching my description weaving in and out of traffic. I hadn't been weaving at all, just passing in the slow lane at a higher than posted rate because the fast and middle lane were blocked by two fuckers that were determined on staying right next to each other and going 5 under the speed limit. Anyways I just got a warning because he didn't actually catch me doing anything illegally.

I always thought scanners were cool but my luck i would get caught going 120 and then they would find it and rape me, lubelessly, in the anus. I will stick with a valentine 1.

I have another solution for you. STOP SPEEDING. Guaranteed to work 100% of the time.

Almost like the people who get DUIs, and are pissed that the cop could have let them go beceause they were BARELY over the limit. Everyone speeds, its a fact.... if you dont wanna pay for the ticket, dont speed. But it is pretty convenient to have something to help you slow down, before you do get that ticket, I would imagine.

agreeing with the don't speed post and setting your CC to 5mph over posted speed limits is still speeding. Just thought you might want to know. Speed ing is speeding in the eyes of the law. You can get nabbed for +1 if the officer feels like it.
As far as old Andy goes, he did a completly illegal thing for the sheer fuck of it. I respect his moxy, but at the same time, we all know you can go fast in an M5, this guy seems to want to go fast until someone gets hurt. Hopefully it's him not my mom or a bus full of kids.

Speed. Sure. It soothes that need with no name and "everyone else is doing it." Do it smartly though. Defensively. Keep pace with traffic. Watch your distance. When you get to court, the judge has probably done the exact same thing and there's doubt you were driving recklessly. Stick a bunch of 12V shit in your car to listen in on police being alerted to stop you? Get a clue! If you're not drawing attention to yourself, you're not going to need a scanner or radar detector or mad tite skillz evading the cops.

Growing up. It's good for the environment.
