it has everything to do with this thread. i managed 50 teamsters for 6 years and this is exactly what was wrong with them. but carl sees the world thru rose colored glasses. im half tempted to not bead blast his s14 harmonic balancer and throw it in the trash. he makes me very angry sometimesFuck unions.
My company was awesome (worldwide tier 1 telecommunications company). As of December 28th, I will work for some bullshit union as part of a bargaining agreement (the union made my company give up some departments to "give us a voice"). They fuckin spoofed our managers email addresses and sent emails, tricked some people into signing. Kiss my fuckin dick. Now we have no choice... it's go union or go home jobless.
The benefits suck dick, the pay scale sucks dick, the promotion scale sucks dick, the dues suck dick, the vacation time sucks dick, the "seniority rules" ethic sucks dick. It all sucks dick.
The other parts of our company that are already union are worthless slackers. They do one little job and refuse to do anything outside of that. It's unfuckingproductive, and a PITA.
I've been raging pissed off about this for the past 2 months since I found out.
Me and a friend asked our Director what incentive we have to work hard, compared to someone who does just enough to get by. He said "There is none, that's why we tried to keep the union out".
/rant that really has nothing to do with this threadComment

please allow me to give you a few tips on posting in a thread where there are several people involved. to make it clear who you are addressing it helps to include a name or quote the person you are addressing. if you were as good at posting as you are at servicing cock i would not have to do this.Comment

Hugh, in all honesty, how can you defend the existence of unions? No BS, no name calling. Let's hear it. We have a Toyota truck factory here in San Antonio. It's is not a union shop. The guys on the line top out at about $24 per hour I think. They have excellent benefits. They get time-and-a-half for OT.
Are you aware of the complex overtime pay schedule for a UAW mechanic? It would blow your mind and plump up your wallet.
Have you seen a Toyota lately?Comment

I'm not all for unions either, there was a meeting at my job where they talked about an Employee Act, being voted on after the Presidential elections. As a lot of you all know the Unions need a 2/3rds vote to be able to weesel their way into your company, right?
Now here's the catch, a Union organizer can come to your place of business, ask all the employees to vote, even brive your co-workers so that you sign a ballot, and even if you vote against a Union they can use these signed ballots as proof that you are in favor of a Union., That's what the Employee act is about. Politicians being paid off by the Unions, to pass this bill so we all suffer.
Please correct me if I'm wrong but if I never liked Unions before, this makes me dislike them even more!, plus Unions are just for lazy people, who need a mediator to cover for their lazy ass.@IRON-E30 aka Edwin:DComment

Currently, yes. I can see a benefit in the past.
But with all the competition today, not many companies will under-provide for their employees. At least not in my experiences.
And if they do, find a new fucking job, you idiot. :idea:Comment

That's what I never understood either when the lazy, overpaid fucks went on strike, why didn't they bring others in and say;
"When this car gets to hear, put your torque wrench on these 4 bolts and pull the trigger, then wait for the next car."Need parts now? Need them cheap? steve@blunttech.com

wow, I wish I would have been more harsh in my original post.
I was actually worried that I would hurt someone's feelings.
Even thought I despise unions, and certainly agree that they are the reason American cars suck so badly. Their time has come and passed.
Here's a hint: Unions used to line government's pockets pretty well, I guess, since they've been "bailed out" numerous times. Let's see what happens this time...Slicktop City!Comment
