Anyone else been in one? I just saw an expose on the news here in Atlanta. They are popping up everywhere, and I was intrigued to find out that the average household income shopping there is @ 60k a year. They don't take food stamps or credit cards, you pay for your cart and bags. You bag your own groceries, and the brands are mostly "off" brands.
I am going to go to one tomorrow to see what it's like.

Aldi's? We have a few around this area, they sell a few brands that you'd find in Wal-mart and similar stores. There a good place for buying party stuff, i.e. chips and what not. But like any store shop around cause they may not have the best deals.

Oh and if you need a job, they pay pretty decent too.

When i lived in Decatur,IL. They had two there. IIRC they did have some brand name foods in there. Wasn't a bad place to go into, was allways clean and organized, and ofcoarse you got good prices on some of the food in there.

never heard of aldis but love trader joes. I wish there was one around here
