Lagunitas has good distribution here. I got a six of their IPA. It's OK, but less cohesive than other West Coast IPAs. Stone and Rogue have better IPAs.

I'm going to try Lagunitas DIPA to see if it's any better. It's odd they don't have distribution up there as CA is a lot closer to WA/OR than the East Coast.

Since forever. I have heard tons of stories about bars on the East Coast having only shitty domestics. Admit it, you're jealous.

I went to a dive bar and they had Southern Tier Unearthly on tap. That is how commonplace "boutique" brews are these days. Nitrogen systems, cask aged finery, etc., is all available here. The only thing we're missing is a ready and large population of meth-heads.

Riiiiiiiiiiight.... Like you said you heard tons of stories but have not experienced.

And there are PLENTY of places like this all along the east coast >>>>> http://www.taco-mac.com/menu_beer_menu.htm

You just need to know where to go to find the finer brewski's. It is true however that most "dive" bars only have your cheap watered down domestic horseshit brewski's, but those places are after quantity and not quality customers. But I am sure this is true in the PNW too.....

I really did enjoy the wintertime case of Sam Adams I had last week. I'll have to try this American Ale soon. Do they sell it out here in Ohio?
