Yeah, GM already tried that bit about 10 years ago, and it um... didn't go well.

I like how they keep releasing concepts, and everyone goes "wow that's pretty cool", then they release the final design and it's NOTHING like what people liked.

Jesus, this thread is a broken record nightmare. I'll get in on this!

Hey guys, haven't you noticed how christmas decorations were put up SO EARLY this year. It's like, I hadn't even digested my turkey, and I was staring at little reindeer. WTF?
Not that I care, of course.

Seriously though, fuck Chrysler. And this is coming from a guy who still owns the original Viper sales brochure.

The Flex actually gets pretty good gas mileage for a vehicle of its size, and is based off of the Volvo S80 platform. Build quality is actually quite nice on the vehicle.

                Try again.

Bush already said they will just tap into the bailout money already approved if the bill dies completely. They are still going to get the money

I'm not going to go as far as to say I favor printing off money and handing it out to everyone, but watching a lot of these hearings, it is really frustrating to see how congress thinks they are dealing with 1995 era detroit vs 2008. It shows how clueless those putzes are we have in office. There have been serious reorginzations and new standards put in place over the past 5 years, and the big 2.5 were actually looking pretty good prior to this collapse.

Of course, seeing most of the responses in this thread so far, they may be fairly representative.

That documentary is REALLY cool. It shows the mentality of US car makers have taken over the last 30 years.

Saw a TV show that tested it at 12.5l/100km 23 miles/gal) on the highway at steady speed while my 15 years old 250,000 miles 525 Tourin,g which weight close to two tons, does 9.2l/100 km on a tired motor. Sure, for its size, the Flex's mileage is not that bad, but is the size really needed, or even an excuse. When can we get smaller comfy vehicule that run on a more frugal diet of fuel, without going to the heavier electric vehicule, which obviously pollute just as much as electricity is made from using oil, coal, or uranium... but in another state.

I'd be happy to see Honda engines everywhere. 42mpg cars is what we need. Honda'S Fit over GM's Flex.
Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

                              Psst, Ford, not GM.

Your ignorance of the US auto market is also showing. Americans don't want small cars. They want large interior areas, high seating positions and the ability to bulldoze other traffic.

The Flex isn't a replacement for a Honda Fit, it's a replacement for the Expedition/Suburbans.

We have one of those cars at school (one of the last few in existence). It has a shitty interior and looks ugly, but functionally its a great car for around town.
