    Blunty,
1: We don't salt the roads here like you do in God's country... So the entire city turns into a skating rink. It is not bad on the main streets, because they get plowed and graveled, but back in EVERY neighborhood it is just a sheet of ice.

2: Throw into the mix that Portland and Seattle have huge hills everywhere. Portland is built in a valley in between two mountain ranges.... By the way what we refer to as a hill, Minnesotans would call a mountain.

If anyone wants a good chuckle, google Minnesota ski-hill

Seriosly though, if anyone in the pnw does not NEED to go anywhere. Stay home.
I have ZERO issues with driving in the snow, its the morons out there who come within a 1/2inch of hitting me who I get pissed about.

I mean fuck, on the news they were showing people blowing past a police barricade to climb a closed freeway onramp, only 30% made it, and the rest all slid sideways, the news anchor even called all of them idiots! My fenders are more important to me then that!

it's true... our side roads aren't maintained, plowed, salted, or sanded in these conditions usually. Shit, as we speak some of our freeways are getting shut down due to the conditions, goes to show it's pretty bad right now. And we have hills everywhere and within this last week have been coated in sheets of ice under packed snow. I love it how people from FLAT areas make fun of us. I had a co-worker last year from North Dakota stay late during an ice/snow storm because he said "he could drive it, you should see the snow where I'm from" and at 9pm that night was in a ditch 2 blocks from the warehouse.

You are a bit behind Holmes, we have over 18" in Burlington and still lightly snowing. Yesterday I had to dig out my e36 to get it out of the park'n ride when it had only been there for like 6 hours.

let me translate this entry for the uninitiated

"its true, the trailer park roads get ignored for the most part. we have hills everywhere and theyve been coated with ice for the last week. i love how people from superior areas make fun of us. why just last week i picked up an out of town trick and after servicing him for a roll of nickles and a box of Chiclets he left at 9pm and put his car in the ditch 2 blocks from my pimps house

nobody is making fun of you. if i were id use some obvious points and make it personal. i was goofing on gwbtii in case you couldnt grasp the concept. pm kilomph if you need further assistance. he provided this useful link earlier in another thread

we didn't get very much north of bellingham - maybe 6". Most of it is blowing away in the northeast winds.. makes for some fun drifts, but the darn snow plows are taking most of them out. :p

also, the WSDOT uses something even better than salt to de-ice the roads - urea.

are you really going to sit here and argue who has the worst weather?
but i do suspect your roomate was either run out of gods country or he could make more on the streets of corvallis where that shit is tolerated
