well i made the mistake of taking cindy in her X3 to borders for some christmas shopping. on the way, following a suburban down a long gradual hill, 2 kids come towards us sliding around a corner having fun in a 60's vw bug. the suburban decides its a good idea to stop. i'm 100ft behind, pump the brakes, and do a gradual 100 ft slide into her rear bumper at 5mph. she had no clue i was behind her.
GET A CLUE YOU DUMBASS (her!)
anyways we stopped and no damage to either car, but there's ice below about 1/2" of snow and it's no fun.

glad there was no damage. what do you keep in the tall stall of the garage? do you guys have a motorhome in there? nice home. because i believe in fair and balanced coverage i will be posting cindys perspective of the crash as soon as i receive itwell i made the mistake of taking cindy in her X3 to borders for some christmas shopping. on the way, following a suburban down a long gradual hill, 2 kids come towards us sliding around a corner having fun in a 60's vw bug. the suburban decides its a good idea to stop. i'm 100ft behind, pump the brakes, and do a gradual 100 ft slide into her rear bumper at 5mph. she had no clue i was behind her.

used to have a motorhome some years back. now it stores a lot of stuff.
my eventual goal is to get a lift for that side so i can park 3 cars, and 2 on the other side.
it's that old saying, the size of the mess expands to fill the void. that's my garage so far.“There is nothing government can give you that it hasn’t taken from you in the first place”

and anyone thats gonna bag on the northwest is a sad sad person. WA is seriously one of the best places to live. we have good summers, and amazing winters. and anyone who knows anything about snowboarding and skiing should already know some of the biggest althetes in winter sports come here to go to Mt. Baker. its reputation is unbeleivable.
so to all you who wanna say where you live is "gods country", take your head out of your ass and stop acting like a douche.Comment

The S14 in my M3 has proven bulletproof and cheap to run. I do 25 track days per year (usually 6 sessions per day as an instructor), run my car as a daily driver, and only change sparkplug, oil filter, oil and do little maintenance. Parts may be more expensive than from the M10 parts bin, but they are't more than any modern engine. A 200hp M10 will be very costly to build, will have a short lifespan and will be totally unstreetable.

Ahem, thanks for the head flange for my turbo manifold. 23psi daily on a stock block, over a year and a half now.:o
You are correct about the S14 being cost effective, after all the little parts for all the stuff I had to make I could have purchased a running s14 and dropped it in, but what fun would that be.

Winter is bullshit. If it was never below 50 degrees ever I'd be a happy man.Need parts now? Need them cheap? steve@blunttech.com

Exactly. The big problem out here is most don't know how to drive in it. They either go way too fast thinking their 4x4 is impervious, or way to slow guaranteeing that you will slide off going around a super elevated curve. I love the chuckleheads that put on studded tires in November and leave them on until April all for those 4 or 5 days a year when we get some slippery stuff. It's OK if you are going to the mountains every weekend, but for stuff here in the valley? Nope, just dumb. And it costs me tons of money in higher taxes to repair all the stud damage.
First two days this week down here there was nothing but a sheet of ice on the roads. I'm not talking about nice, cold, powdery "gods country" snow here. I am talking ice, inches thick ice.
Today was nice. A good 4 inches of good cold snow, hard packed on the roads, no worries. I made it to work every day. I drive my E46 in it with just all season tires. No big hills to worry about for me so it is cake. Well, as long as you can stay away from the idiots.1987 E30 325is
