Josh, have you not read through this thread? He's simply exercising his right. If more people like him don't soon start rearing their heads, this will certainly get worse. History DOES repeat itself, history has... proven this.

I can't believe you don't understand this. Of course he could have just said yes, everybody knows this. He didn't HAVE to say yes, they didn't have the right to stop and question him. It doesn't matter how simple the question is, it's out of principle that he declined.

If these DHS assholes really cared, I know of about 4 locations within 50 miles of my house where hoards illegal immigrants hang out every single day waiting for somebody with a pickup truck to employ them for a couple of hours. I'm sure everybody on this forum can think of places like this.

Waste of money. Waste of time. Unconstitutional.

Again, that's the point; they attempted to force him to do something they didn't have the right to. What if they made you say "yes", hand over ID, do a background search, verify employment and housing etc., does that sound a little scarier? It's the same thing.

So what's to stop them from making you do a hundred other things? The answer is: our civil liberties.

I find it scary how backwards some of you think.

You guys don't agree with checkpoints near a boarder, where all types of illegal shit goes down?

You have a problem with that, yet you probably voted for Obama a man who wants to take civil liberties away?

Did you guys not listen to the man in the video before the checkpoint? He states everything there, they had every right to stop him and ask if he was a citizen. What the camera man says before the checkpoint goes hand and hand with the link you sent.. Am I missing something?

Oh yes the ol "logic" of "you must not be reading". Therefor I must not understand. No, I disagree with you.
Does the guy have to answer at the actual border and show his valid credentials??

A cop asking if you're a citizen of the United States of America is not unconstitutional. Then I suppose a check out lady asking for your Drivers License when you're buying a beer is also unconstitutional as well eh? Tell me the difference.

Might not want to go that route. It will most definately rape this thread.

That is the point. He does have to stop at the border to show credentials, that is a great way to protect us Americans.

Now say I set up a road block at main street and 5th, stop you, and ask you to prove you're a citizen, or you can't get to work. This is exactly the problem with this road block.

Yeah, that was a big mess up statement on my part. What I should of said was, there is going to be actions going under way, under Obama to change the bill of rights. As in, it wouldn't of be touched if Obama wasn't elected.

Sure the guy was confrontational, but you bet your ass I'd be confrontational too if say, a cop knocked on my door and said "We're searching everybody's house in this block for no reason and unless you do a little song and dance for us we're going to harass you." He didn't do anything wrong so they let him go. After threatening to arrest him, of course. Are we supposed to just roll over because they ask us to?

                              That's quite a leap you're making.

Facts are, when you are out in public the police can ask you for ID and if you refuse to produce it, they can legally take you in until you prove who you are.

The guy was an asshat and was looking for trouble, was argumentative and just being an instigator.

The cops should have kicked his stupid, waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles, ACLU ass.

How can the ACLU claim to support civil liberties when they won't recognize the 2nd amendment as an individual right, as ruled by the SCOTUS?

Why? Because they are a left-wing group with an agenda, that's why.

You want to see a loss of rights?

                              Come to California.

Democrats have impeded 1st and 2nd amendment rights of citizens to the point where you should be outraged, but you're not.

                              Why is that?

it's not 5th and main street, they are on a highway near the boarder.

Again, what the hell is with the backwardness?

Your pissing your pants because they are doing something that's not a big deal at all. Who gives a rats ass. Obama nor McCain debated over the situation during the election. The system is currently fucked, and no one wants to do anything about it. I say make it a little easier for them to come over, this is a free country.

If this was during the Clinton administration nothing would be wrong. You would be arguing MY point. Since it is under Bush, your going the other way, or at least it is how your perception has taking you.

What I find funny is under Obama, we're going to have more rights changed and taking away than probably with any other president in history (public over private).

                                Backwards a bit??
