you know, back in the early 90s they made the Pontiac Lemans-- it was just a rebadged OPEL too-- the Kadett-- and oddly it didnt sell very well in the U.S., but here in Germany they sold like you wouldnt believe.
            OPEL:

            Pontiac:

as well as GM had been doing the same crasp with the base model Cadillacs for years too.

            Caddy:

            OPEL:

Yea, as I mentioned earlier, the L200, L300, the Aura, The Sky, and now the Astra. They've been selling Opels as Saturns since around 2000-2001. I dunno what rock Lee is under.

Sad state of affairs over there, isn't it?

Seems every 10 years or so they crap out a couple of decent cars. Still controlled by the bean counters, but anyone who has driven a Syclone or Grand National knows what I mean.

GM needs to stop building what they think people want, and focus on building good cars.

                    Closing SOON!

They just stick that big-ass angled JDM exhaust under it, move the intercooler from the top of the engine to the front, plaster it with a bunch of stickers of whatever Subaru tuning company they like, and call it a day. And I get so damn sick of the AWD god complex that comes with all these little douchebags. I'm just utterly sick and tired of WRX's and STi's. Period.

You want to know what Subarus impress me? The guy at my local autocross with the 92 Legacy Turbo with an STi engine swap and a 6 speed. Or the guy a couple hours from me with a legit JDM Impreza 22b. Or the guy I know in Portland with an '89 Legacy wagon who did a 5 lug swap, has the full OEM body kit from the coupe of the same year, and is putting an crate H6 3.0 with a turbo in it.

id pick an sti over an evo. its annoying driving either one of em because every other twat who sees you in one then thinks you need to race them. Fuck that noise.

Its just everytime GM tries to bring over euro stuff they get their ass handed to them, by dealers who dont know how to sell them, and the usual suckers who wander into a GM dealer and dont want something like that.

I think bringing over opels is a great idea, problem is youre selling them as Saturns, whose market position has been selling mediocre cars but treating people fairly about it. Nice business model, but then it really doesnt matter if you suddenly change your demographic to euro look shit.

It makes perfect sense to sell them as Saturns.

Saturn is the GM "nerd" brand and always has been. More likely that the guy walking into the Saturn dealership would be interested than the cretin who walks through the Chevy dealership in his "3" shirt.
