Awesome videos, thanks for posting them.

When I see that kind of drifting, it just gives me chills. It just looks like so much fun. I'd love to get out there and try it sometime.

I remember when I was a kid, going to the skate park in Del Mar (CA) and watching the dudes who were really good, getting air out of the bowls and pulling tricks. It was just such a rush, and then I'd try to get in there and all I could do was go back and forth...too chicken to go for it and get air.

Skateboarding, surfing, thrashing around town with your buddies on BMX bikes....you didn't do it to be fast, or be the "winner". You did it because it was energy for your soul. It just felt good. I've always felt that drifting was in that same category.

I feel bad for the haters out there, who never know that feeling. The people that get hung up on "the scene" and lose focus of why they ever got into playing with cars in the first place....to have fun.

Different strokes for different folks. I don't like it because I don't find it that fun. I would much rather be wheel to wheel racing then drifting. Then there are other people that would much rather drift then go w2w racing. Hopefully you aren't trying to say drifting is "better" then going for fast laps.

                I still don't get it...

I've spent decades trying to keep race cars from drifting...

And now it's all the rage

when i go off roading i love drifting around corners. my brothers and i grew up riding ATV's/dirtbikes and what not, first thing my little brother learned to do was slide around a few trees we had in the yard. I seriously believe that learning from a young age how to control a vehicle in all conditions can really make you a better driver when your older and prepare you in case a situation happens when you actually do lose control. I know some people that would have no clue what to do if they started sliding in the snow.

                      Agreed.

Drifting isn't for everyone. I gotta admit that w2w racing seems to be quite the blast... and I'd love to give it a shot sometime.

But as previously said, different strokes for different folks.

One thing I'll say though... I have not seen one person that has gone for a ride along drifting (with various different racing backgrounds.... from none... to drag racing superstars... to track racers... etc etc) that did not have a blast going out and drifting.

Not that they said (although some did and converted) that drifting was much better than where they were originally at, but they at least recognized the fun in it.

                          I have indeed drifted...

it's just that if it sticks... It's flat out faster.

Absolutely. And when I said I don't find it "that fun", I meant, not as fun as going for fast laps. It's still a blast. I don't think anyone could go for a ride with a pro level drifter, get out, and have a bored look on there face. That's the type of thing that will give you a huge grin and likely leave you shaking, just as a ride in a rally car, Formula 1 car, or BTCC car would.
