Found a video of the program I have on both my Kenwood/Garmin and my Nuvi. It does work.

On both of mine the top part that is green on the one in the video turns red when it alerts.

yes and no.
i don't drink and drive. the big joke here is to make it from the scottsdale bars to the 101 with out getting pulled for a DUI. speed camera wont catch people like that. even if the speed camera catches you speeding and you are drunk, it wont stop you from taking out yourself or another driver on your way home.

i say that to make people think.
i would rather have more DPS officers that the stupid cameras. one is there to make $ for the state. the other is there to promote public safety and stop crime.

They even have the damn camera way out in bum fuck Egypt past buckeye on your way to California to catch people off guard as you hit 80 on the longest boring stretch of cactus lined interstate ever!

Stupid ass Dyke governor was on UofA's campus blaming republicans for screwing up everything when he's been in power for 6 years and improved nothing or signed nothing into law that would make a damn.

i think it is funny that Scottsdales mayor Mary Manhater, was the first to get thses fucking things on the 101 where it goes through Scottsdale, and now there are everywhere BUT the 101.

all they do is fuck up the flow of traffic, like was said earlier.

the BEST thing about speed cameras is they CAN'T pull me over while i am SHIT FACED behind the wheel unless i am speeding! FTW!!!!!!

tell that to someone who is praising speed cameras over more officers/cars on patrol. they will quickly change their tune.

Wouldn't the fact that all cars have different wheelbase sizes affect the accuracy of the readout on speeds if they're in fact, using strips on the freeway?

the freeways were one of my favorite things about living in AZ. midnight 80mph drives- stay in your lane and don't act like an idiot and you'll never get pulled over. when the cameras went up in scottsdale i said "fuck it i hate my job anyway" and went back to california. sad to hear that it's only gotten worse...

Get a radar detector, it'll yell at you so you can slow down and not trigger the camera.

Wouldn't the fact that all cars have different wheelbase sizes affect the accuracy of the readout on speeds if they're in fact, using strips on the freeway?

Seems easy to fight this in court.

It's been widely used elsewhere and they just measure the time it takes for the front axle to get from the first line to the next.

I hate the cameras. I especially hate the ones on the 51 where right before them the limit goes from 65-55.

I got a thing from a company called Phantom Alert which added points of interest to my Garmin. Now it beeps and a warning comes on the screen 1200 feet before the cameras.

There is legislation to remove them from the roads statewide. I hope it passes.
