                              I don't know, it sucks that he died but electricity isn't free, you have to pay for things or they won't give them to you anymore. $1000 electric bill is huge too, mine is like $200 for 6 months of power, so he probably hadn't been paying for a long while.

                              still, they should have some sort of policy for not shutting down power during a cold snap, but I don't see how they are obligated to keep him supplied with power when he wasn't paying for it.

                                                      well my propane bill was $400 so it sort of evens out, but that's still almost an entire winter's worth of heating.

                                                      I think this says more about how our government and taxpayers treat the vets than the electric company though. they are forgotten and ignored..
