It will take decades for the average person to feel the benefit of the discoveries that will hopefully be made with this thing. All great technological innovations come from this kind of tinkering. Quantum physics will carry humankind into the future.

Of all the courses in life a person can take, I think none is more noble than the pursuit of knowledge.

Top physicists and scientists predict that it will create antimatter and destroy the solar system? No you ignorant fuck, that's not what they predict. If top physicists predicted that then this fucking god like machine would not have been built. Go take a modern astrophysics class and then come talk to me.

see you would think i am but im not. i really wish i could find the story. i have been looking all over but i can not find the dam thing. now i just sound like a nut! but one thing drives out another. with all the things i need to remember on a day to day basis (im learning how to work in a kitchen and need to plan and remember everything i need to do and/or prep two days in addvance) there is not much room for cool stories like this that i read in random places at random times.
oh well you are just going to have to think im a nut! lol! i feel like one right now. need to go to sleep!

lol yes, please go to sleep. And if you get some free time from being a chef (I'm kind of jealous) read up on energy conservation and efficiency. It is physically impossible to create something like "perpetual motion". The world that we live in simply won't allow it.

Though I agree with you, that would be a cool thing. We would never need to burn any more kind of fuel. Energy would be free and Al Gore would be ecstatic.

Hmmm, I take it you don't have any friends.
I think all those astrophysics classes you took at the community college completely destroyed your sense of humor.

Here's a tip, nobody cares what you think, this is an intarweb forum.

lol. Nah I've got plenty of friends, and I could really care less about what anyone here thinks about me. I just like to call out idiots like you that make blanket statements and don't know shit about what they are talking about.

To answer your questions, yes this particle accelerator is going to try and destroy the world with some 'crazy' science. Don't worry though, this guy will save us.

What these people are doing is absolutely astounding and is a testament to humanity. All the luxuries that you take for granted day in and day out are because of the kind of people working on this project. If it weren't for scientists we would still be living in the dark ages. People talk about respecting the President and people in power but really it is the great scientific visionaries that deserve the utmost respect from all people. So why don't you curl up into a corner and die you worthless piece of shit.
Okay, but if i get sucked into a black hole, i'm not going to be happy.

There's no doubt they are book smart and brilliant, but maybe making a gamble not everyone would like to make.

In any event, I dont think it will be the end of the world
