Let's hear it for itemized deductions!

Between mortgage interest & the wife's grad school tuition, pulling a nice little refund for a change.

I think of it as making sure I won't have to pay and it's like a nice little bonus to buy stuff at the beginning of the year.

I'm thinking my refund should be big enough to buy a complete M52 for my swap.

Using student loans to study abroad = tax benefits for partying in foreign countries FTW. Also, donations to state schools get big breaks as well.

All my tax refunds are headed as down payments to increase my debt.

Federal: Paying off two credit cards (under $500 each). Doing a front bumper swap, buying some 16x8's (probably slips) and tires, timing belt change (water pump + tune up at the same time).

State: savings account for my move to brooklyn this fall.

Being a college student means, my tuition = tax credit. W0oT!11!

I seriously hope that you were joking. The small business owners are the ones that carry the financial load of this country, yet, we get pushed around and used by the government like a rented mule.

I was serious. All the things that could possibly count as "deductions" or "writeoffs". Is is bad enough to the point that small business isnt profitable?

                    ATTN: Sponsors!!

                    Don't sell me anything!

Whatever I get is going onto a 87 Civic Hatchback. I guess that won't stop anyone from selling to me but this is the year my entire refund goes to bills, not going to be much since I have been unemployed since April. I have been saying that since highschool but I really gotta get rid of my debt, going to reward myself later by going to Pismo Beach and Big Sur in the Fall.

I get hammered every year - but this time I can itemize. I can deduct my house, tuition, books, donations, ect. Last year I owed 5 figures. I think this year I'm better prepared. If I break even I'll be thrilled. If I get anything back it's hitting the stock market.

i worked at this car wash for a little over two months. Since they were new, they were just going to pay their employees in cash until they figured out who they were going to keep. Well, they kept me around, but they never claimed me as an employee and continued to pay me in cash. When another job came up, i left the car wash and figured that was the end of it.

Well, about a month ago, i got a 1099 form from the car wash place, the same kind of form that my dad fills out for his subcontractors (electrical, plumbing, mechanical, etc) meaning they had hired me as a private employee, or whatever the term is. It sucks b/c i was still their employee: they told me what to do, i had to supply my own uniform, i had scheduled hours. My tax lady told me there's nothing i can do; i can report the car wash place but that would just force them to submit a W2 so i would still have to pay tax on the ~$800 i grossed. Fucking slimeballs.

Whatever money i get back is going to be spent on new suspension or saved in my 2.45% savings account.
