    lets talk pit bikes

so i just sent my tax return away today.. and ive been thinkin about getting a pit bike with my money once i get it back. anyone currently or ever had a pitbike that would know a little info?

so far ive been lookin at a suzuki DRZ 110 and a couple kawasaki's.
would it be best to get a big name brand over chinese made since they are prone to lots of problesm shortly after purchase?

yahh they are used for messing around and i dont live in the best place for a full size bike. if you got the cash you can trick them out and they can be raced and taken on jumps and everything. mainly im just lookin for a off roading toy. to take camping and for backyard tracks that are around my house.

        dont do it!!!!!

Dont get a chinese one! there horrible beyond belive!

my honda xr 50 has been runing strong since 2004, its got a 88 big bore kit in it and bars.. IM 5,8 and it seems fine. Plus it fits in e30 trunks with a tie down and the bars off.. very handy, and deffintly makes it a PIT bike. A 110 isnt trunk size so i dont see how its a pit bike.

you dont wanna hear how long the mod list is.

so im about 6,1 180lbs so my biggest concern is i dont wanna get a 50 and have it not have enough power that i want. and a slightly larger frame is just for the comfort. as far as fitting in the trunk of e30, i got one of lukes boxes so thats out of the question.

how fast does your xr50 go?

I bought a Chinese brand one for 300 bucks. I talked them down from like 550. It was a 110cc 4 speed it would do 45 mph. It lasted me three hard years. Finally the tranny wouldn't stay in gear I could probably fix it. Well worth the three hundred just tighten all the bolts occasionally.

                  that a good chinese bike!

well the drz is a good bike for trail and stuf, But once you get it the bugs gonna bite you and your gonna want to hop it up. I would go the crf130-150 route, they have a ton of after market parts, plastics, and stunt parts.. Plus if you ever decide you want to go get milk with it you can street legalize it. my 50 goes 1bout 40 uphill which is awesome! i weight 190lbs.. However its not a 50, its got an 88cc big bore kit. Now days alot of people selling there 50's have hop ups, and the base price to spend is 1500 to 1800. When I bought mine 1500 was killer because the 50 bug just landed and everybody wanted one. anyways. I hope you get what you want. Good luck.

Season 13, final episode. It will be known as "The Viet Nam Special" when it gets to BBCA. I'm the last one to admit it, but bittorrent can sometimes be a good thing.

I just picked up an xr 50 off of a buddy. Its already got a big bar kit on it but I want more. Im gonna get a cheap ebay skid plate and I want to get some beefier suspension. Anyone have any preferences or suggestions as to which brands to buy? I know bbr, sik 50, and fast 50, but thats about where my knowledge stops. Should I just get shit from them or are there more cost effective brands out there?

I have a Chinese one and I put a 140cc motor on it and that thing rips. I think it does like 50 and it will ride a while through 4th gear if the suspension is set right. Put its a piece of junk and breaks all the time. If you get a Chinese one you have to be creative with a welder to fix it. Also look into ssr I think there pretty good actually.
