four-stroke minibikes are boring and slow, but if you're shopping new, that's what you're going to get.

these guys have earned a certain amount of respect in the local mini/flat-track crowd: http://shop.pitsterpro.com/pitsterpro-pit-bikes.aspx

still a china-bike, still more maintenance-intensive than an XR50, but when guys run them you see them show up with the bike more than once/twice.

Og status! Ive been tossing around the idea of bumping mine to a 110 and adding the four speed trans with a clutch then turning it treet legal.

I have a kawasaki kx 60, it's a 2-stroke that packs a punch. Nearly everyone that rides the damned thing falls because the power band and torque. They underestimate the bike due to the small size, even after giving multiple warnings no one ever learns....
I'm 5'7 about 185lbs and this thing hauls ass with me on it, would highly recommend it!

Why bust your ass on a pit bike? Get a cheaper 10 year old full size dirt bike and run that around.

^ it defeats the purpose of a pit bike tho. the fact that it is small is what makes it cool.

I vote either xr80 because clutch. or klx110. Ive have a few xrs and they make sick pit bikes. crf50 is too small imo. You cant jump it or drag handle bar in a corner cause us taller guys bust your kneecaps on the handlebars. You can spend a shit load modding one out to make it sick but it gets expensive.

pit bikes are probably one of the most fun things dirtbike related.

Go with a KLX 110. I think they discontinued the DRZ counterpart.

Get a 4th gear drum, a big bore kit, and maybe a clutch. Triple clamps, big bars, 14in front tire, heavy duty front and rear suspension (extended swingarm, ishock, maybe some BBR front forks if you can afford it) and then your good to go!

                      I used to build xr50s and KLX110s.

I've never been into them but my friends used to ride them at the indoor skatepark. It was always hilarious to watch.

                            Good thread timing.
I am trying to find a bike this size for my 7 year old. Presently thinking crf/xr 50/70 or pw50/80, due to the no clutch thing.

                            What say you?

                              I had a PW50 when I was a kid.

                              It was badass.
