You knew my name was Andrew or did you reference somebody else?

But I fully agree, even looking at the generator Veidt used to transport the energy, it looked like tentacles of energy coming off the main generator, not just the SQUID reference. I also laughed at the 3001's 1 being shot off to being "300." I enjoyed how well done Dr. Manhattan's story was played out. I expected it to be almost confusing if you hadn't read it, jumping from his origins to the future, but they cut just enough of it out to make sense to the every day person.

I also agree the character that played Rorschach nailed it, even though I was also saddened that Rorschach was a sufferer of "gingervitis" when I first read it. The somber, almost poetic monolouges were well done, and even though some of his monolouges were cut down, I'm glad they included the Pagliacci one while still showing the Comedian's life and death.

One of my biggest complaint, was not his voice, because I pictured it as being a muffling grunt, but that the review I read called it the "Dark Knight growl."

But did anybody else see the aforementioned E30?

I was talking about my brother in law, Andrew. He's NitroRustlerDriver.

I thought Rorschach's voice was perfect, that's how I always envisioned his voice would be. I was also really happy they included the Pagliacci joke. I also agree very much about Manhattan, I thought he was done very well.

I'm going to see it again tomorrow.

I am incredibly excited to see how they do Dr. Manhattan. I know everybody has a hard on for Rorscach, but Dr. Manhattan is by far my favorite character in the novel.

Amazon, my friend. Lots of stores have them for cheap, too. Depends on the movie.

              Excellent movie.

There were a couple things that I particularly enjoyed. I felt that the montage at the beginning as well as the familiar music soundtrack really brought the story down to Earth. When you watch movies like Spiderman, the Dark Knight, etc. there is a suspension of disbelief. What you are seeing when you watch these movies is a complete work of fantasy and you are consciously aware of this. With Watchmen, however, it is maybe not so much a fantasy. The montage and the music really give you a sense of "things could have been this way" or "maybe this world isn't so much different than our own". This was obviously one of Alan Moore's intentions but to be completely honest, I thought Snyder did a better job at it.

I also think that this movie could not have come out at a better time. We are living in the era of comic book movies. 20-50 years from now, that is what this time period in film making will be remembered as. Watchmen is a big step out of the box as far as the ideas that people have about super heroes as well as the movies themselves. After watching 10 years of Spiderman, Batman, Iron Man, X-Men, etc. etc. This movie is going to rattle people's cages a little bit. Again, this was one of Alan Moore's intentions but Snyder has got to be given credit for transferring these ideas to the big screen and therefore to a wider audience.

I thought the acting was a bit stiff but hell, it works with Watchmen. Watchmen the novel is a deconstruction of the super hero. Watchmen the movie is a deconstruction of the super hero movie. A lot of it can be seen as a satire of the typical comic book movie. Maybe I'm digging too deep here, but I think it works. It works in the same way Patrick Bateman serves as a satire of the stereotypical 80's yuppie.

As for Dr. Manhattan, the "man" is so powerful yet so helpless at the same time. Human beings view him as God yet he is fully aware of the fact that he is nothing like God. The fact that he can view all of time at once shows how really helpless he is. He has no choice, he has no real power. He cares about absolutely nothing as he realizes that nothing truly matters. Very nihilistic.

Fuck what a great movie. Alan Moore should stop being an elitist prick and give Snyder a pat on the back.

I didn't read the book so I can't comment on how accurately it represents (or doesn't represent) the book, but as some "Average Joe" watching the movie I thought it was AWESOME.

I really, really enjoyed myself. The movie was long, but not once did I pull out my phone to check the time, I was just so drawn into the movie.

I liked how it was a very dark "superhero" movie and the whole general theme and plot of their struggles and conflicts within and between themselves. The soundtrack was great and the special effects were great (and not over-the-top CGI crazy). I'd love to go see it again.

It's not a couple's movie. I wouldn't be surprised at all if the "we" walking out of the theater in all 3 of those cases was actually the female deciding it.

My wife and I are going to see it soon, she loves superhero and comic book movies.

And I totally agree with what Tom said about the feel of this movie, you're watching it the whole time thinking "this could be something that could actually happen/have happened". Even the part about Dr. Manhattan really doesn't seem THAT far fetched. I loved the soundtrack, but it pissed me off because there was a million snotty little kids at the theater for the midnight show, and they all kept laughing at the music. I guess that's what I get for being a child of the 80's.

And I really, REALLY hate to admit it... but I LOVE the cover of "Desolation Row" that My Chemical Romance did.

I am completely baffled at the amount of ignorant people walking out of this movie. I wouldve stayed in my seat and watched it again if they would let me.
