damn, some of you guys take television a little too seriously. like someone not fitting into the groove of network television is in direct correlation to their worth as a person.

He was on a late night talkshow, he wasn't in Church, or at a wedding or a funeral.
And wishing death by drug overdose. Classy. Guess its completely unacceptable to believe the guy went a little overboard with his partying, a lack of judgement if you will. I don't pay much attention to the Hollywood social scene, but its not like this guy has the rep of Courtney Love or Paris Hilton or something who is always trashed and acting like an idiot.
Your straight edged self-righteousness is really annoying.
If you partied too hard the night before, and you're too fucked up to even answer questions with more than a one word answer, cancel your appearance. The world will not end. The way he behaved on that appearance was insulting to Dave, insulting to the audience, and most of all, to himself. Talk about acting self-righteous, he's sitting up there in that chair like he's too good for everyone in that room and everyone watching. If you're too fucking out of your head to even answer people properly and not act like a dickhead, then stay home. No one would have killed themselves over not getting to see him on Letterman that night.Comment

I didn't think it was funny at all. If that was me hosting, I would have kicked him off the show without even going to commercial after about 30 seconds of his spun-out bullshit. That was incredibly disrespectful, you don't go on a show like Letterman, or any TV show for that matter acting like that and treating people like assholes. I don't give a shit who you are.
Stay home and look at your walls if that's how you're going to behave when you are a guest on a show. If that's how he acts now, I hope he does follow his brother.
At the end he removes his sunglasses and shakes Dave's hand. You can hear him say "good job". Also, he is working on this
making it very likely that it was all an act.Comment

Seriously man, go fuck yourself. It had nothing to do with being straightedge, and I'm not self-righteous. And way to go on using my lifestyle as a soapbox to attack me with. I don't care what you, Joaquin, or any of the rest of you people do with your lives. But when you're going to be a guest on a TV show, that someone has invited you to, you don't treat people that way. I would have started laughing even harder after he got all butthurt about people snickering at his "hip-hop career". Give me a fucking break.

I agree with you that it was a bad decision on his part, no denying that, I was just saying I think you are taking an appearance on a talk show a bit too seriously. "ZOMG, how darezz he dizrespectz Leterrmanz!!!"
I agree it would not have been the end of the world for his publicist or something to issue a statement that "Joaquin is down with the flu" or some other made up stuff and go back at a later date. But negative publicity is still publicity, hence all the stories and chatter about his appearance. Hell we are talking about on a BMW forum! ;)
I didn't think he was being self-righteous, dick, whatever term you want to use, he was way to blown to really have an idea of what was going on. And I found that hysterical. I'm trying to think who was last actor awhile back that went on Letterman like that, Tracy Morgan maybe? That was funny as well.Need parts now? Need them cheap? steve@blunttech.com
