Volvo auto brake feature bad idea imho

    http://www.volvocars.com/us/campaign...perientialTour

Go to the City Safety tab, play the game. The system automatically stops the car. I feel this is dangerous because people already tailgate and this will give them a sense of security and they will tailgate more.

i dunno about this shit, but the mercedes distronic cruise control is awesome. Nothing like tailgating with 15.4 inch brake rotors and a computer to save your ass.

Remember when they made the video of them testing it, and the test driver forgot to turn it on? lol

that's just the thing...the majority of people out there DON'T want to drive at all...they'd be extremely content with having a completely automated driving system, thereby allowing themselves extra time while they're traveling to get shit done.

people are too lazy and, paradoxically, busy all of the damn time.

I agree and also think any system that relieves people of 100% responsibility to a crucial driving component (stopping) is a bad idea. People will take it to the limit and pay less attention.

Look at speed limits, (I am guilty of this) if it's 75 I go 80, 65 70 etc. I am pretty sure that I have a 5 mph margin so I push it.

I just think braking needs to remain 100% my responsibility when I am driving.

DRIVING should be 100% the responsibility of the driver when he/she is driving. If he/she can't handle that responsibility, they need get off of the fucking road
