Ok then Mr. Rockefeller, explain to me in detail how our banking system works. Without using Wikipedia. You are an expert after all, you shouldn't need Wikipedia to explain it too me.

Ral: I am currently, as we speak, moving my arm in the downward position and putting down the bong that I am not holding.

As for the gun thing, I realize that my post was a bit hypocritical. But I just can't put gun ownership on the same level as my personal privacy. So you can forget what I said about being unconstitutional but my point still stands. Invasion of my privacy is a violation of my civil rights. Restrictions on gun ownership is not.

A social health care system would provide health care to EVERYONE. Let me say that one more time for you in case you don't understand what a wonderful thing that is. EVERYONE will have access to health care so that they may not die or be in pain because they cannot afford it. Also, a social health care system does not limit you choice in doctors. If you want "better" care, you still have the freedom to go somewhere else, just remember to continue paying your taxes so that the poor guy down the street can continue getting his meds. Thank you.

Gun laws? Blah, who cares? Obama sure doesn't at the moment. Hes working on important things like deploying more troops to Afghanistan, closing prisons which were notorious for human rights violations, pulling troops out of Iraq by 2010, propping up the economy, etc. Maybe you should find something better to worry about.
You dont think you relation from across the pond doesn't pay 1000's for their heath care???????????????????????? I bet she pays more then we do.

Where the fuck do you get this shit, the English are taxed to death if you make more the 52k USD you are taxed at 40% plus 11% on the 1st 1100 USD and 1% on more than that per week for the health care system thats a total of 52+% out of your check every week . The Brits tax fuel at something in the neighborhood of 400% to help cover the socialized medicine. Here in America we pay for our health care an fuel separately.

No socialized medicine is not necessary or inevitable. You can go to any ER in the country and they have to treat you if you are in pain weather you can pay or not. In England there is a pricey treatment for a eye disorder but you have to go blind in one eye before you can receive the treatment to save the other eye. I think my doc know more about how to treat me than the Bureaucrats in DC do..

Human rights violations WTF you call a pouring water on some ones head a violation of their rights when they were planning or did commit crimes against the USA or making them talk to a woman that on the rag and not in a burka, or flushing a book down the shitter. WTF Are we hooking there testicles up to a 150amp Battery charger and putting it on quick start???? We are holding them in a place the was off our soil and if we let them go they will be right back at it again in days. Dont think it will happen???? 1. You should care about gun laws if you have anything to say about the unconstitutionality and threat to freedom of the Patriot Act.

        2. You realize that, as mismanaged as the war may or may not have been (I need to be politically correct), it's very likely Obama's following a withdrawl plan similar to what Bush might have done, right?

        3. Guantanamo Bay prisoners will go to one of 3 places.. back to their home countries that do not care about human rights to be tortured and locked up, back to other countries their organizations are operating in that have no qualms about torture, or they will go back to planning attacks on innocent civilians. For most, closing Guantanamo Bay is a death/torture sentence. I hope you feel better. For others, they will go back to trying to kill those who have done nothing wrong. I hope you're jumping for joy.

        Fuck capitalism.
the fall of Communism isn't even history yet, it's within memory. Communism crushed the Soviet Union, and most Communist/Socialist countries that have done well in recent times have done so solely because of the unlinking of markets from government. Unless you like your weed 3x as expensive and so shitty you probably couldn't get high after the government makes sure its "safe", Capitalism is the best option. And it can support helping others, but there comes a point where it detracts from the entire purpose of capitalism the same way an engine can support an AC compressor and other accessories with a slight loss of power, but the more accessories you add to the engine the less the engine is able to perform its primary function of moving the car down the road.

Look man, I teach folks how to fly planes and charge 60$ an hour to do it, send me some fucking money and a phone number to call you at and I'll explain why the housing market took a shit ( hint fractional banking didn't have anything to do with it), but you tried to put the money they didn't have into an explanation of what happened, I was hoping by finding out what FB was you would understand that it was not the issue.

          Waste of my fucking time.

that's the point.. once gun control is implemented thoroughly, it is that much easier to take away the next right. You should be at least a bit concerned. Blatant gun control laws are sent forward with the same intent of keeping the masses safe that privacy invasions are. (Do you really think the government cares what kind of pr0n you watch so long as it isn't illegal?)

This will continue until the housing mkt rebounds. 35-40% of Consumption comes from housing, and 70% of GDP comes from Consumption. If you dont see the correlation, you are blind.

Housing #'s come out sometime this week.

                    By Paul Steinhauser
                    CNN Deputy Political Director

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A national poll indicates that two-thirds of those who watched President Barack Obama's address to a joint session of Congress on Tuesday night had a very positive reaction to his speech.

A poll after President Obama's speech suggests it was received well by the majority of those who watched.

Sixty-eight percent of speech-watchers questioned in a CNN/Opinion Research Corp. survey had a very positive reaction, with 24 percent indicating that they had a somewhat positive response and 8 percent indicating that they had a negative reaction.

Eighty-five percent of those polled said the president's speech made them more optimistic about the direction of the country over the next few years, with 11 percent indicating the speech made them more pessimistic.

Eighty-two percent of speech-watchers said they support the economic plan Obama outlined in his prime time address, with 17 percent opposing the proposal.

                    My take...
It was an excellent speech, and he is just getting started...

I think I am starting to finally figure him out and for once I have some faith that we finally have a Dem Leader who will continue to seek bi-partisan solutions but if push comes to shove, he will call out those who stand against him...

The Repubs have already gotten out in front abit with the dis and mis-information and he really needs to start counter punching to keep control....

last night helped, now he just needs to take the next round and come out punching...

he also needs to start running Information Ads to counter the Mis/Dis information ads running by the right currently....

                    also;

it's just funny trying to put all blame on Carter and Clinton for this, you are really reaching and obviously a Fox and Rush Fan... you do really need to research abit...
Yes, Clinton did sign in the bills that are partly responsible but remember they were Republican Bills that he signed so equal share goes to them too...
This is just Reagannomics running it's full course, plain and simple, trickle down doesn't work and the tax cut train of thought is just plain idiotic...
Health Costs have risen at 4x's the rate that incomes have, this is not acceptable... health care costs are responsible for a new bankruptcy every 30 secs...
                    this is not acceptable....
I can not make you like Obama and there is alot fo you who wouldn't like him no matter what he says or does for whatever reason,
but the Right has done nothing to help with this shit storm they have built and I really think that if he continues to get Republican Flack, he will start calling them out on it, one on one...which he will have to do to keep public support....
We are finding out more and more everyday that more investment groups or guys and even banks are some kind of Ponzi Scheme and I think it will eventually come out the the Republican way to govern is basically a big Ponzi Scheme as well...as well as an Unregulated WallStreet...
When there is a Dem in office the Repubs are all about No Spending, but they quickly change their tune when they are in office,
they just want to get the coffers full (when Dem's are in control) so if they do get back in office there is plenty of money for their BS Agenda...
Remember when Cheney Said, "Reagan proved that deficits don't matter", that is their mindset when they are in office but pitch a different pig when not...
also, remember the bail out plan, the Repubs wouldn't sign it until another $180B of pork was added to it...they wanted to get it at the end of their riegn so they could become the "reponsible, no spend party" just a few months later with Dems in Office...
Wake up people, No One party has the answer but OBAMA is definatley trying and you have to give the guy support for atleast the first 2 yrs to give him an honest chance at it....

He did make a mistake last night,
he said that America invented the Automobile,
there are different opinions on this but most Agree that it was a German,
Karl Benz of Daimler Benz later to be Mercedes Benz...

I think most people hate him just because he is a Democrat and a liberal and they are stubborn in their views. They think that low taxes are the answer to everything and some how that if people have more money in their pockets, everything is going to get better. Well Bush lowered taxes for people making over 250k a year and it put more money into the banks, more money into Joe Schmoe's pocket and EVERYBODY and their brother went out and bought a house. Now that whole thing backfired and were in a world of shit, all because there was a large surplus of private money.

Just step back and give the guy a chance. People seem to genuinely believe he is the spawn of Satan and is going to do everything from pound on your door with a bullet proof vest and take your gun, to stand behind you and give you lashes while you "volunteer". There is just no good reason to believe all the stuff being thrown around about Obama.

In 2000, when Bush was first elected, I didn't particularly like the guy but I definitely supported him in a similar time of crises (then 9/11, now the economy). My support carried all the way over to the War in Iraq. It wasn't until I had damn good reason, i.e. the intelligence failures and ballooning deficit, that I no longer supported him.

The point I am trying to make is that the economy is going to shit, and Obama (whether you like him or not) is definitely working fast to change some things. You might as well wait until he gets caught getting a blowjob from an intern or something. However, you still wouldn't have a good reason in that case. Breaking and entering maybe?

BDK and Holmes, you should both just give it rest. It was this way when Clinton was president and when W. was president. The out-of-power party likes to bitch and moan about everything the president does. Just let them have this place to bitch so that we don't have to read on the news about them shooting up a school or a mall.

Obama is not some kind of savior, and he's probably got some bad ideas, but these ass-fucks were banking on McCain solving our problems (which is all that needs to be said about their judgment). After eight years of Bush they just wanted to elect someone older and stupider.

I am by no means defending the Democratic party here but the Dems did actually practice bipartisanship and supported Bush greatly until he started royally fucking up. Bush was able to go into Afghanistan and Iraq with complete support from the Dems. Now, the Republicans are threatening to "punish" the three republican senators that supported the stimulus. Give me a fucking break. I hope the Republican party just dies. Now they've got this Bobby Jindal guy coming out who is an obvious response to Obama (like Palin was a response to Hillary), and hes saying that the stimulus was a bad idea BUT the republicans need to be bipartisan. WTF?!?!
