Its not in the poors interests to take money from the rich, that has been proved not to help anyone.

Basically the rich vote aka the minority can't protect itself from the poor vote, aka the majority.

this is simplified. ill elaborate when you make a dumbass statement.
Although it looks like this was written by a second grader, and maybe was, he still understands this better than a lot of others.

The "rich" we are talking about here are really the upper middle class. They are not the ones hiring lobbyists and buying votes in congress. That is mostly other governments, big business, and big unions. So, in other words, these "almost rich" folks get one vote and that's it. Just like the rest of us. They are a minority and cannot protect themselves from the masses who are jealous and want to punish these people for being successful. It's blatantly anti-American.

In the long run, it is NOT in the best interests of the poor to tax the rich into oblivion. However, they don't care. They want their money right now. So they do vote in people who will give them money, just like Obama is doing. If that money gets taken from the "rich" so much the better. It is vindictive and is class warfare. And, that flame of hate is carefully nurtured and fanned by the Democrats. It is their voter base.

The rich don't hate the poor. I guarantee that a wide majority of them would be willing and are willing to help the poor... if the poor were willing to help themselves.

However, the poor, especially the young poor, HATE the rich and blame the rich for holding them down. Bah, nobody is holding them down except their own ignorance and unwillingness to compete.

-"the problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other peoples money"-

I think it sums up that last post rather well, and its what all these guys are missing.

Meanwhile, as everyone striving to do better is what pushes the market and country up, and grows new consumer bases which in turn allows more people the opportunity to generate profit.

There is enough capacity within this system to help those who need a little help getting back on their feet. It cannot support entire populations or segments of the economy, nor can it function effectively if the basic premise of competition is tampered with. While it might make people feel good about themselves to say that wealth will be redistributed artificially, it hurts the underlying engine behind economic growth. It's like getting a sick person drunk. He will feel better for a while but eventually the root causes of the illness will crop up.

People are shocked that we're calling Obama and his cohoots Socialists. This isn't anything new to the democratic party. During the HUGE wave of immigrants, you had the democratic party standing in the ship yards handing out $10 and then asked them to join up for their party. Sound familiar?

This is to buy votes in 2012 because it sure as hell IS NOT AN ECONOMIC STIMULUS BILL for the next 4 years.

I can hear it now in 4 years.. "We CUT YOUR TAXES MIDDLE CLASS AMERICA" LOL

very well thought out and concise and true

the central premise in this whole argument can be summed up as follows, imho

the "rich" are rich not because they stole from the "poor" or held them down, they are 'rich" because they, for the most part, embraced the american dream and worked hard.

Absolute bullshit. Do you think W worked hard a single day in his life? No, he was handed everything on a silver platter, including the presidency.

The American Dream was very real 50-100 years ago, but it does not exist anymore. Poor people are poor because they are born into a poor family. They couldn't afford to go to school because their family didn't have any money. They couldn't afford healthcare because they are stuck at a shitty minimum wage job at McDonalds. Then they pump out children because they are brainwashed by bullshit conservative abstinence programs. Then these kids fall into the same vicious cycle that they are in.

All of this wouldn't be a problem if big business was willing to pay higher wages and provide health care to their employees. Instead, they bitch and moan and pay off their buddies in the government to ensure minimum wage stays low and social health care does not become a reality. But, oh everything will be ok as long as they can have more money to hire joe blow at minimum wage with no benefits.

                            ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Hey dip shit watch it, I was born into a poor family, I could not afford to go to college, and by working hard, and applying my self (since I was 13) I will make well over 100k this year nearly 150k and I am 28. The american dream is still alive, and anyone can make it out of the dregs of the lower class. The problem is the generations of entitlement they think the GOVT and the rest of us OWE them something. That we should take care of them because they dont have what we do, well I have no issues helping some one who is willing to help them selves and needs some help. But just holding your hand out and not being willing to work and provide for your self and expecting others do it all for you NO WAY.

But your poor are poor and have no way out argument holds no water, this is not mid evil europe, any one can make a better life here (results may vary) why the fuck do you think everyone in the world want to live here.

IS this the shit they really teach in College now days, maybe I am better off for not going.
