I posted this up on E30Tech earlier and wanted to cross post it here as well. This is mainly an FYI for the community on R3V.
I don’t ever post on E30Tech, however I felt it would appropriate to post up and mention a few thoughts of mine.
First off my thought behind R3Vlimited. Since I acquired the forum my overall goal was to deliver on the following items:
1) Never charge a dime to access the board, no premium anything, no in your face advertising, nothing
2) Provide as many resources as I could to get owners of BMW E30’s (and now E28/E34’s) together under one roof
3) Allow a place where owners young and old can ask questions, get responses, and in general leave with a fairly solid answer
4) Allow anyone to sign up at any time with zero administrator moderation.
Many of you call r3vlimited a joke, many think my forum is mainly made up of young kids who do nothing to help the community, and that is fine. My goal was to promote a community where anyone can join, and yes, while we do have many great users who are dedicated to posting up quality content, we also have quite a few who are young, troll, and in general don’t provide a ton of knowledge sharing the community.
Now you may ask why do I allow such things? Well a community is a community because everyone can be in it. This is not a place where I have a HOA and we screen users. This is a place where anyone can post, anyone can respond, and everybody can say just about anything they want.
I have had sponsors come and go. I know Lee was one of them who has some issues with my site, and that is perfectly fine. The community will continue on, and I will continue to dedicate my time to keeping it going.
Every E30Picnic, every track day, and everything that R3VLimited sponsors is about community, This is why I have the party every year, where over 150 people from R3V come to my home and are treated to awesome beer and fantastic BBQ. This is why we run R3Vlimited banners on the sides of our site sponsored Pro3 racecars, and why every year we donate cool stuff to giveaway for free at the E30Picnic.
That is my general idea behind R3VLimited, and I feel its important to put that out there.
Now, on a second note I want to talk about E30Tech and make a few notes myself
1) I have no issues with E30Tech
2) My forum members do not speak my opinions of E30Tech
3) I am saddened to see such a fantastic community be so concerned about its future
4) I have offered before and will always offer whatever help you guys need to keep running.
Site differences aside these sites (both E30Tech and R3VLimited) stay afloat because of the community that stands by them. This is why we run E30Tech / R3VLimited stickers on cars, this is why we help each other out, and finally this is how we have made great friendships over the years.
Whoever ends up with E30Tech, or if it stays where it is I hope that you guys come up with a way to stay running, and continue to grow your great community that you have helped shape over all these years.
As always, I offer my assistance to anyone who wants it, website differences aside. I know many of you disagree with the way I run R3Vlimited, but if you put that thought aside for one moment and think about the entire reason these sites exist in the first place I think you would see where I’m coming from.
E30Tech Admins/Mods/Whomever, my door is always open, from one BMW site to another

Thank you,

It sucks, for me, that I know I am one of the "kids" who doesn't provide a lot of knowledge. I attempt to help where I can but I know there are people out there that know much more than I do so I try to learn from them. I would love to be able to give back to this awesome community more than I do at the moment, but I just don't have the experience that a lot of you guys have gained over time. Hopefully I will at some point, though.
