I had this big tirade all written up, but scrapped it because I don't want to give you all the satisfaction of an argument. It suffices to say that the economic rabbit hole goes far, far deeper than you realize, and Obama's actions aren't even remotely near the many roots of the problem.

What about all of the other instances where the government has had to step in over the past century and it has turned out to be a good thing? You guys act like it has never happened before. If GM and Chrysler knew how to run their shit they wouldn't be in this situation. Look at Ford, they are doing just fine.

You guys crack me up. I have another plan for you: stop giving any money to GM and Chrysler, and let's loose a few hundreds of thousands direct jobs, three times that many in indirect jobs, and let's have all the retired workers wait in line for some free soup at charities...

That Obama guy is only trying to help workers by salvaging an industry lead by incompetence... for decades.

Governmental intervention in private businesses is nothing new, and is happening on a daily basis. Subsidies, commercial lobbies, commercial exchange regulations, etc. How do you think Harley-Davidson was saved from bankrupcy by Reagan's administration in the 1980's? The governement taxed importation of any motorcycle over 700cc (all being Japanese imports), then gave $$$ to HD to have them contract Porsche to redesign the Harley engine. What came out is a rejuvenation of the brand and mostly, of its antiquated engines. Is that still socialism?
