Totally agree with you here. If someone absolutely has to throw blame on a President then toss some on Clinton. But honestly President's don't have that much control over the economy / economic policy.

Complete bullshit? Yeah I guess it is if you ignore the Patriot Act, executive orders for the NSA to start conducting warrant-less wiretapping inside the US, pushing for Telecom companies that supported ILLEGAL warrant-less wiretapping to be given retro-active immunity from civil-suits, that's just a couple off the top of my head. Granted the Telecom Immunity and the Patriot Act don't fall squarely on his shoulders alone but all of this stuff happened while he was the man in the hot seat.

So let's see here let me tally up the Constitutional Amendments that have been trashed under Bush's term:

Fourth Amendment - Patriot Act, NSA Wiretapping
    Fifth Amendment - Patriot Act
    Sixth Amendment - Patriot Act

I'm sure Obama is working on the rest of them right now. Probably start with the Second Amendment and go from there.

But like you said, Bush is done and over with it's Obama's turn to muck everything up.

Well if you're going to nitpick then technically a true Communist state has never existed. The end result of a Communist uprising would be the dissolving of the state and of its class structure. As far as I know this has never happened. What actually happens is the destitute masses like their new found power and wealth and decide to stay in charge. Honestly that's one of the biggest flaws with Marx's philosophy. He assumed that the proles want equality and to move beyond class struggles but what they actually want is the power and influence that the "capitalists" have. So after the revolution they just replace the old capitalists.

What different variations of Communism are you talking about? Or are you talking about different philosophies? Marx vs Lenin vs Stalin? There are many schools of thought on Communism is general but the base idea still came from Marx / Engels.

Western European countries, which is the direction we are heading, are democratic socialist. Government officials are elected by the general populous, education, healthcare, etc. are guaranteed to each citizen, civil rights are guaranteed, and the standards of living and age of mortality are higher than they are here. Have you ever been to Western Europe? It is very, very nice. Socialism =/= Communism.

Eastern Europe before 1990 WAS THE SOVIET UNION!!! IT WAS ALL THE SAME GOVERNMENT!!! THE ONE THAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT IN MY POST!!

Also, never once in my post did I claim Soviet Communism to be the only one. It is simply the first and most well known. All other communist countries, such as China, North Korea, etc. were DIRECTLY influenced by the Soviet Union and share MANY of the same characteristics.

With these large corporations nationalized (who was it again who nationalized private businesses?), we are becoming a socialist country-headed towards communism. This is no place I want to be.

In short, velcom to communist russia.

I would think that the next couple of elections go to conservatives, as a backlash to this. Hopefully restoring the constitution and our government to what the founding fathers intended it to be.

I love my Ford F-150 more than ever though.
Headed towards communism?!?! HA! And people tell me I need to put the bong down.

I'm gonna tell all of you what I was told many times throughout the Bush years. If you don't like it then leave.

I honestly do not have the drive to read all 11 pages so I'll just toss in my two cents.

    Cent 1: fuck obama
Cent 2: The autos and many suppliers are run like garbage (I work w/ them on a day to day basis) and could use a kick in the ass, im not sure this is the way to do it but I guess we need to see.
