chevrolet screwed me when i was 19. i had a chevy vega GT (oxymoron) that after 30,000 miles was basically a 2 stroke it burned so much oil. took it in under warranty, they took the head off to take a look, cylinder walls had these major scores/scratches in them and they told me it wasn't bad enough to fix under warranty. fuckers. from that day on i vowed i'd never own a chevy. and chrysler is so bad i'd never own one out of principal.

THANKS TO OBAMA I OWN PIECE OF EACH

First, we are talking about Obama's policies here, we are not talking about Bush. And btw, hanging the current economic problems on Bush is like blaming the Titanic sinking on the iceberg. The iceburg just happened to be there when the crew drove the boat into it.

The Fed can and does use tax policy and regulations to control commerce. The Fed can loan money to a private company to keep it afloat if it deems that it is in the national best interest to do so. The Fed can't own a business. The Fed can't compete with private business. National security is one of the few legitimate uses that the Fed has. To mandate the removal of a CEO is not the job of the Fed unless that CEO has committed crimes. It doesn't matter if the guy was a lousy CEO. The shareholders should vote out every single sitting member of the BoD at GM because they have been so lame. But it shouldn't involve the Fed.

Socialism sounds wonderful. All the icky things will be taken care of by the Fed and they will provide for you. Right, sounds good.

However, the simple truth, the simple fact, is that it is not sustainable. Where does the money come from?

Well, you say, they can get the money from the businesses that had to be federalized like the banks and the car makers. But who, may I ask, is going to use the banks and buy the cars? Well, the people who work and earn money of course. Well, yes, but in order to fund the universal health care (which of course drove the drug companies out of business so it's lots cheaper now since the only drug a doctor can give you is Tylenol), pay people who aren't working anymore because the drug companies are out of business, pay for all the services, provide housing for the homeless, and fight that border war with Mexico, etc, etc, the poor working guy, the guy that actually makes something that can be sold, is taxed so high he can't fucking afford to buy a car. So, the socialist government is paying thousands of workers to build cars that nobody can afford to buy. So, our socialist government wanting to make sure the people are happy, lowers the price of the cars below what it costs to make them so people can buy them. Yep, that'll work.

It is very, very simple. Socialism is like eating cake for every meal which sounds good when you are a kid, but the reality is that you'll hate it after the first week, you'll get sick, and you'll die a year later. Socialism sounds good, but is unsustainable.

It also insures a huge amount of government intervention in your life, way, way more than you have now. To whoever the idiot was who brought up (yet again) about Bush taking away your civil liberties (which is complete bullshit, btw), you ain't seen nothin yet.

                my 2 cents:

Bush paved the way for Obama's policies by exponentially expanding executive power.

                Congress has allowed this.
                So has the Supreme Court.

Bush was not the first president to do this. Hopefully Obama will be the last to do this.

With these large corporations nationalized (who was it again who nationalized private businesses?), we are becoming a socialist country-headed towards communism. This is no place I want to be.

In short, velcom to communist russia.

I would think that the next couple of elections go to conservatives, as a backlash to this. Hopefully restoring the constitution and our government to what the founding fathers intended it to be.

I love my Ford F-150 more than ever though.

I honestly do not have the drive to read all 11 pages so I'll just toss in my two cents.

                  Cent 1: fuck obama
Cent 2: The autos and many suppliers are run like garbage (I work w/ them on a day to day basis) and could use a kick in the ass, im not sure this is the way to do it but I guess we need to see.

This country becoming communist is right up there with the moon landing being staged. :loco:

Communist Soviet Union was a totalitarian dictatorship where millions of people were killed or starved to death because Stalin was a paranoid schizo and exerted complete control over the government. Western European countries, which is the direction we are heading, are democratic socialist. Government officials are elected by the general populous, education, healthcare, etc. are guaranteed to each citizen, civil rights are guaranteed, and the standards of living and age of mortality are higher than they are here. Have you ever been to Western Europe? It is very, very nice. Socialism =/= Communism.

There are different variations of Communism. You are posting only one example and claiming it to be the only one.

Eastern Europe before 1990 WAS THE SOVIET UNION!!! IT WAS ALL THE SAME GOVERNMENT!!! THE ONE THAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT IN MY POST!!

Also, never once in my post did I claim Soviet Communism to be the only one. It is simply the first and most well known. All other communist countries, such as China, North Korea, etc. were DIRECTLY influenced by the Soviet Union and share MANY of the same characteristics.
