A few observations:
UUC sold my friend a "tested- ran great before we pulled it" S50 for his E34 wagon. He and I busted ass for 12 hours straight swapping that motor out. It smoked like a chimney and left an oil slick on the back of his car from the first time we fired it up. It had a broken ring land on the #1 piston. Spent another 8 hours swapping in an S52 a few weeks later. I want my freaking time back!
My brother's shop will no longer deal with UUC because the QC is shit and there were constant fitment issues that caused problems with getting cars back to the customers.
Though Clay at Bimmerworld is no longer a friend of the family (unless they worked out their differences and didn't mention it to me,) I would not pull that dick move on him, nor do business with anyone that would pull that crap. For shame, Rob.
My M5 came with a UUC shifter, and I did just win a used UUC lightweight flywheel super cheap on ebay from someone else, but I'll be damned if I ever sport any of their gear (apart from that) on any of my cars.
