Nope, because I don't do things to attract officers attention like have burnt out lights, not use signals, expired tags, speeding........or drive stoned/drunk.

But if you think a cop pulls you over and then notices your eyes are all blazed and is just going to let you go.........lulz.

Perhaps probable cause as it's used today is so counter intuitive that it's hard to remember how reality really is.

that's why I added the caveat clinically validated, it will never be able to be performed accurately by law enforcement.. lol. The problem is the test isn't recorded. If you recorded the test and had it interpreted by objective medical personnel it would be more accurate. Or just do a THC blood test with specificity set for a certain level indicating recent usage..

That can then be arbitrarily interpreted and administered by the entire gamut of Law Enforcement with no real clear standard of enforceability that would stand up to even a lawyer that got his licenses out of a cereal box .

re: driving. certainly the level of intoxication with MJ/ETOH varies between experienced and novice users.

    You should not drive impaired.

i've had plenty of patients with alcohol levels greater than 400 who are walking/talking, etc.. they've worked really hard at drinking and are good at it..

same with stoners as said above.

however a few of the studies I've seen comparing EtOH to MJ intox effect on driving show less dose dependence w/ MJ and overall less judgement/reflex effects.

    example:
“Overall, it is possible to conclude that cannabis has a measurable effect on psychomotor performance, particularly tracking ability. Its effect on higher cognitive functions, for example divided attention tasks associated with driving, appear not to be as critical. Drivers under the influence of cannabis seem aware that they are impaired, and attempt to compensate for this impairment by reducing the difficulty of the driving task, for example by driving more slowly.

In terms of road safety, it cannot be concluded that driving under the influence of cannabis is not a hazard, as the effects of various aspects of driver performance are unpredictable. However, in comparison with alcohol, the severe effects of alcohol on the higher cognitive processes of driving are likely to make this more of a hazard, particularly at higher blood alcohol levels.”
from Sexton et al. 2000. The influence of cannabis on driving: A report prepared for the UK Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions (Road Safety Division)

However MJ doesn't have a reliable quantifiable test like alcohol does. IMO if they want to bust cannabis drivers they should use a clinically validated sobriety test to get DWI, not urine or blood tests..

It's not what you know, it's what you can prove and seeing someone looking high doesn't prove them to be high.

I'm not sure you were acutally trying to make a point here? (I found it difficult to understand)

My opinion: Live and let live.

I smoked for about a year, then stopped and realized how much life improved for me, but that was just me. Some people enjoy it, I did at the time, so why deprive them of that? It's not like they'll hurt anyone, might as well legalize it so they can stop bothering us about it.
