I have MJ to thank for helping me save myself when my anti depressants were making me suicidal. The legal drugs I were taking made me want to kill myself. The drug that is illegal saved me. This system is screwed up.

At what level of sleepyness, or old age, or drunkness should you not operate a vehicle or machinery?

That is just an arbitrarily defined number.

Even if you cant 'prove' it in a lab a driver could have still been 'impaired' because his girlfriend was sexting him on his celly phone, or he had been working all day and was sleepy. You shouldn't drive and do other stuff because it makes you drive worse.

It may be harder to bring up in court because there may not be a highness-test, or a sleepyness test, but that doesn't mean that it will be thrown out as general operator negligence.

When there is a highness test we will just pick a number... like .08 .... and that will be that. Some of us might be blazed out of our minds and visiting the gods of other dimensions at that level, and some people might not even notice others are even high.... Just like with booze.

People do stupid stuff, and they shouldn't. You need something in place legally to help keep stupid people from stupidly hurting others. Some thing we should also include themselves, since obama would have to foot the bill if they went to the hospital (seatbelts, helmets, smoking etc), but that is a separate argument.

At what THC level are you incapable of operating a vehicle or other type of mechanical equipment? And how do you want type of test do you want, Urine or Blood? Both need to be done at a laboratory correct.

Middle of the day so I doubt they were drinking/high. At what point does old age equal inability to drive?

My grandmother drove for 30 years without a license.

Laws are just words on paper- and they are meant to be made/changed/deleted as necessary. We tried prohibition with the liquor and that didn't go over too well- we are trying it with marijuana and it also doesn't seem to be working great.

If we aren't careful with all this law-changin they are going to allow women and blacks the right to vote.
I believe this is what we call a ignoratio elenchi.

Hey that happened last fall to a kid in the creek like 20 ft from my apartment. Drowned face down in about 5 inches of water.

Some people can pass a sobriety test after 6 drinks, some can pass it after taking more bong rips than snoop lion... that still doesn't mean you should drive.

I think they created the 'driving while impaired' vs 'driving while intoxicated' thing for this reason- you can do a blood test and figure out your BAC.... but I don't think there is a direct test for cough medicine, meth, pills->opiates, weed, cheesy puffs, white horses, etc etc.

People need to not drive when they are waffled up- end of story.

Maybe he was high too- who knows , but he was confirmed super drunk by the autopsy. Abstinence education for sex, alcohol etc etc is proven not to work. People LIKE to get drunk/high/messed up. We have to teach them how to be safe about it so they don't die.

Driving into the ghetto/trailerpark/meth country usa so I can get weed is not helping.

I'm not saying I'm against Marijuana legalization, in fact I'm most definitely for it, but I do think some of your stats are misleading. I also find this kind of pot smoker (seems some people in this thread) :

annoying in general so I garner some satisfaction by arguing here.

Any that's 75000 people a year dying linked to alcohol, saying they died from alcohol makes it sound like they drank too much and died. However the breakdown is this:

So not discounting the number just putting it into perspective. Interestingly enough I always see that nobody has died from smoking weed ever but I found this:
They had other drugs in their systems. Weed definitely causes impairment but nothing near what alcohol or drugs like cocaine causes. But then again all I've messed with is alcohol and weed.

Also about the picture (lol'd by the way), I think we just get mad that a high percentage of people who are against weed have never smoked it and come up with arguments and nothing to back them up. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but if you're against weed at least smoke it first then give us your reasoning. I bet if they had smoked they'd at least be like 'eh, let em smoke it'

You'll always hear people who smoke cigarettes say that it calms them down. Something about taking a drag and exhaling, weed is exactly the same. Potheads just mind their own business and philosophize (idk if that's a word).

    We make words up
