Yeah. For real- Why? I'd rather deal with stoned people than drunk people any day.

People don't get belligerent when they smoke pot. Decent people often turn into violent assholes when drunk.

Legalize it. Grow it HERE, not in Mexico. Tax it. It would help put the Mexican gangs out of business just like the repeal of Prohibition ended bootlegger gun battles. And an estimated 11 billion dollars of tax revenue couldn't hurt...

Because like most people in the country they don't have self control. I can apply this to pot (any drug for that matter), alcohol and even food. People in this country use everything in excess. Why does someone need to continually need to get high or drunk is beyond me. If you feel better hurting your body that's your choice. I have seen too many people that went from drinking excessively to drugs and starting out with pot to more serious drugs. I cant even imagine dealing with people on a daily basis who are high....


What I find most amusing is all the rationalizations in this thread on why pot should be legal. It will only give people more of a chance to go in a downward spiral.

They don't have to go around trying to fight everyone to be just as bad. I saw things that absolutely astounded me when I worked some Grateful Dead cover band concert. Man had his baby in a bouncer strapped to his chest, blowing marijuana smoke in the kid's face walking around the concourse. The kid looked to be just over a year old. Later on we had to deal with a 7 year old girl who was covered in her own vomit, was bleeding from her ears, and had a raging fever. Her parents refused to allow her to be transported to the hospital once they found out they would have to go with her. Police had to put them in PC, we notified CPS, and she was taken to the hospital, too bad she'll probably end up in a foster home. And to finish off that night, a 2 year old boy was without his parents for 3 and a half hours. He was found wandering the concourse by one of the other teams of EMTs and sat in the box office with a policeman until the concert ended and his parents decided to look for him. All of the adults involved were on the order of 30-50 years old.

My "dad" is an alcoholic.. Because of whiskey, he was more prone to increased father absence, tardiness to baseball games, accidents in a car, no workers compensation claim (didnt work, too drunk), and job turnover (see previous). It really impaired several important measures of life achievement including physical and mental health, cognitive abilities, social life, and career status. Last time I checked, the dude at the liquor store will gladly sell you the tool to achieve such a lack luster life. Its got nothing to do with the plant, but more to do with the operator and their own self motivation and willingness to provide THEMSELVES with a fulfilling and rewarding life.
