Yeah I've been following this for a while, I made some posts a bunch of pages back. I'm not allergic, but I had lung surgery, so I walk around with 8 staples in it. I don't do well in the cold, with smoke, or too close to fireworks.Dinosaur: Please go through and read all my responses to the dumb ass know as pureaudio. My position has been laid out in depth there.
Oh and I assume you must be highly allergic, that dose suck man I really feel for your position.
And if they are BREAKING THE REGULATIONS or the law for where they are at. they should be punished for that. On private property they can BAN or ALLOW it and set the rules for all aspects of it. A college campus would fall under the state/public property rules and if a Private school can write its own rules and ban it all together on the campus if they wish.
I'm just worried about the synergistic affect legalization would have on overall smoking rates. As it is respiratory illnesses are the majority of our calls (I'm an EMT on an ambulance service), and people with severe cases of asthma or COPD, or emphysema have it hard enough as it is. It's likely because I have to navigate so carefully that I empathize with these people. Having clean air to breathe is so important, and to people like us it's essential.
I really just urge people to smoke with consideration to the people around them.sigpicComment

I'm high right now
I'm all for legalization. I only smoke every now and then, and it was just what I needed to de-stress after finals. Nothing like a nicely rolled spliff or J. I hate pot "culture" though. There is no need to make your cell phone wallpaper/ringtone involve Bob Marley, when you can't even list any song other than jammin'. Weed for me is a very casual drug, and is great in moderation. I know a lot of kids at my college that smoked every day of their freshman year and dropped out right after first semester. The same thing can be said about alcohol

We all do really I feel the same way 100% But really if we regulate one class of douchebag where dose that end up???? We are all douchebags to some one for soem reason or another. Its a trip down a slippery slope and we all might not like where it ends, may be a bit orwellian you know what I mean.

im not picking on anyone really. i was OBVIOUSLY joking when i said you need to take a bong rip. jeeze man lighten up, im not over there blowing smoke in your face. like i said, i dont even smoke. i feel for your position if its as serious as you say, but not everyone is so highly affected by smoke. infact id say almost no one is reduced to coughing up blood from smoke drifting in through a closed window (i find that very hard to believe). also, you said the rules are already in place, so your complaint should be with your school who isnt enforcing the rules. we dont need more laws. plus this thread is about marijuana.Comment

Yeah, only in my mind the slippery slope starts with legalization and not regulation. So herein lies the difference between us. It should come as no surprise either, that I'm libertarian and counting down the days Obama has left in office. We all do really I feel the same way 100% But really if we regulate one class of douchebag where dose that end up???? This.I already said: legalize it for people over 18 and tax it heavily. I think it could be a good source of income for both the agricultural industry and the U.S. government (as a means of paying off debt). However, the only issue that really arises for me is the following:
Marijuana affects reaction time--fact.
Therefore, heavy marijuana usage, to some degree, increases the likelihood of motor vehicle accidents--fact.
How do you prosecute people in accidents who test positive for THC?
After all, THC can stay in the bdy for 30 days. How do you tell if such a person smoked right before driving, or weeks ago?
How does this afect who is responsible in an accident?
In cases of drunk driving, it is pretty cut-and-dry.
If someone blows above a .08 BAC, they are (almost always) at fault.
With marijuana, this is a much shadier problem.
I'm sure they could come up with some kind of reaction/sobriety test that would be about as fair as the DUI test.
I agree with your statement fully and would like to add to it. By legalizing weed we could free up the prison system for REAL criminals! Tax payers are wasting there money on petty pot dealers/transporters doing ridiculous sentences for such a harmless drug.
Does anyone know what kind of sentence one would receive for illegally selling moonshine? Or making homemade cigarettes and selling them? I guarantee it would be a lot more lenient then marijuana offenses.Check out Undr8d Empire on Facebook: www.facebook.com/Undr8dEmpireLlc

You're all retarded.
And not much would change if it was decriminalized. Im not saying legalize it completely, but not throwing folks in jail for something people would be doing anyways regardless of law only makes sense. The people are speaking to this current administration, and they're listening finally. Obama isnt a fucking moron. He may not have all the answers, but he'll push us in the right direction America needs to be.
