There are cases of children born with a deficient gene for building collagen and as a result their skin tears and falls off at the slightest touch, the act of suckling during breast feeding pulls the lining of the mouth out, their pain sensing neurons don't seat properly and have nothing but pain their whole brief life. Euthanasia is compassionate in a case like that and doctors and family have to come to that decision on a case by case basis.
