As someone whose skin cancer was caught early and cured whether that fee was exorbitant!

On the other hand, if Docs didn't have to worry about being sued for every little thing, their malpractice insurance premiums wouldn't be so high.

Here's an idea: rather than provide healthcare, how about have the gov't pay for the docs' overhead and have patients pay a much much lower cost? Insurance premiums could be vastly lowered. ;)

I agree to an extent but how about the government follow the constitution and get out of peoples business.

At the cost of everything else? No, of course not. Bad businesses go by the way side for a reason.

I personally think generosity should be a way more prevalent trend in our society. I definately believe that some of the Republican talk is a bit out of this world stupid when it comes to helping others. But, there's no way in hell the Government can mandate this or require us to use their system in which to give to those in need. And if you really think about it, this isn't about insuring 40 million uninsured as they've spoon fed people, it's about making money. The same motivation they've villiafied businesses for is exactly what they're after.
You missed the point i was getting at.

They could drop coverage this very day and not pay any penalty at all.

So now they are saying it would be cheaper to just pay the fine, no matter if the premiums go up or down. Isn't this the same as saying "we could save money by just not offering it at all?"

I received no perscriptions or any sort of treatment whatsoever besides being LOOKED AT.

I don't show up to change a lightbulb at a clients house for less than $200.00 minimum. I have a 2 hour MINIMUM charge to make it worth my company's travel time, unload time, etc, etc... so, 5 minutes at a base rate of 1 hour minimum ='s $180.00 perhaps?
