I can't believe no one picked up on my sarcasm. I'm really sad that r3v considers me to be this stupid. :(
... I guess that's what I get when I had my own drunk and stupid thread.
It was about both slavery and secession but the issue of SLAVERY CAME BEFORE SECESSION! Also, Lincoln was ALWAYS an abolitionist. He did not free the slaves for merely political reasons.

Slavery was a reason, but not the only one. It was never purely a war over slaves.Originally posted by Beej '86 325esevery time an M-tech 1 spoiler is destroyed, a baby seal dies.87 325:83 jetta coupe:99 volvo c70:99 volvo s70Originally posted by JparkrThe last thing we need are more of the retards on here thinking they are engineers too.

The south and the north simply didn't like each other and disagreed on almost everything, slavery was just one of those things. I'm sure slavery was a big part of the cultural reason, but the north did not go to war because of slavery, perhaps the argument could be made for the south succeeding, in some part, because of slavery.Originally posted by z31maniacI just hate everyone.
