also, for all you idiots who are going to quote scripture at us....
In the bible, every single time God had the Israelites go rampaging thru some city, it was specific. I.E. Jericho.
1. The old testament is a history, with specific stories and examples about the Israelites
2. The bible has no scripture encouraging violence against any groups that are living today.
3. The killing in the bible was all targeted on a city or a people who would have destroyed the Israelites if given the opportunity. A pre-emptive strike so to speak.
4. The new testament sets the guide lines for how Christians should act from the point of Jesus' life onward. The old testament is a HISTORY the new testament is a set of guidelines on how we should live.
5. You can't blame a christian for anything in the old testament. their were no christians then. only the Israelites.
6. Any christian who condones the killing of innocent civilians is not following scripture.
7. Christians in the military: can of worms i know. Some of jesus' companions were soldiers, and there is no mention of him chastising them for their service. i admit that its a weak argument, but im fairly certain that serving in the military is acceptable to God.

the point i made is this : the bible has violence in it, but its a closed-end violence, aka it happens once and is done.
The Koran is open ended violence: it doesn't end until all people in this world are muslims.
also, if you dont believe in the bible as being Gods word, then none of that violence occurred according to you. if you believe their is no God, then the violence in the bible is simply human nature and nothing else.
either you believe that God exists and the bible is true. in which case you had better take some classes on theology to straighten out your views.
or you believe God doesn't exist and the bible isn't true, in which case your crying about fairytales.
