A House investigative panel on Thursday announced multiple ethics charges against Rep. Charles Rangel.
The announcement means the case will go on trial before a separate ethics committee, which will decide whether the alleged violations are backed up by the evidence.
Rangel, a New York Democrat, said he looks forward to the trial. He said Thursday that he's been asking for the opportunity to explain himself to his constituents for two years.
Rangel was chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee until he stepped down in March following criticism from the ethics committee regarding a separate case.
The announcement Thursday did not specify which alleged violations would be considered during the trial. The panel has focused on several issues, including Rangel's use of four rent-controlled apartments in New York City and his use of official stationery to raise money for a center bearing his name at City College of New York.
The timing of the announcement ensures that a public airing of Rangel's ethical woes will stretch into the fall campaign, and Republicans are certain to make it an issue as they try to capture majority control of the House. Speaker Nancy Pelosi had once promised to "drain the swamp" of ethical misdeeds by lawmakers in arguing that Democrats should be in charge.

I ignored it until I saw the clip of an MSNBC reporter getting lambasted by Mr. R for asking that not too soft question.
I just find it interesting anyone with 2 synapses to rub together can say certainly either of these two agencies have no axe to grind but also most any news agency is 100% unbiased.
It seems to me just about all have a lean to them.
I watch the BBC as much as I can because at least they are less prone to only show one side.
Like we both stated, it's pretty to see what news organizations slant is, so one side constantly bringing up the source posted as biased one way or the other is, well, redundant.

Parker its buddy, I have learned something on here.
If I were to post just the fox link I and it would be touted as just a R, and a R biased news source bashing on a poor minority senator, on blown outta proportion allegations, that have no merit.
SO when it comes to things like this I always post the MSNBC link, for the lefties because they, all 22 of MSNBC viewer's seem to post here. That way they have their choice of which biased article to partake in. In this instance they are fairly similar so there for info in either of them should not be too far off one side or the other.
So to recap, I post one link for the self avowed lefties that will accept nothing less than a Olberman special, and one for the rest of us, no matter what you level of moderation is, you have a choice in what article to partake in.
Oh and parker the BBC, has openly admitted a leftist slant. I do use the BBC for global news though they do seem to be the best at covering shit from all over the place.

My point is Mrsleeve, buddy ole pal, is they are all biased, should you choose to re read what I said about the BBC you will find I said seems to be more likely to show more of both sides.
You basically said MSNBC for the idiots and Fox for those of "us" with erudition, class and intelligence.
Fox has regularly foisted edited, partial views of stories that were little more than fiction upon the unsuspecting of the world who lap it up like a dog drinks antifreeze.
I think his attempt to sidestep the question because NBC, or rather, more specifically MSNBC was not one to ask those questions, and Luke Russert was simply young and trying to make a name for himself was a load of BS. You should be accountable to whatever outlet is asking, and you work for us, as governmental workers, you answer to us, and should be putting your self on the line every day, for your district/state, not protecting yourself from oversight.
Absolutely, he is clearly dirty and is hiding behind "righteous indignation"
I think there are those that think the "left" media is behind the Dems even when they are wrong and was simply pointing out that MSNBC asked a question clearly this Democrat did not want asked.
