I could see that even though the administration advised against the release, they would still be surprised, dissapointed and angry that they went ahead and released him anyway. I would be.

The US did not want Megrahi released. And if Scotland did (given that, once again, they're their own country) decide to release him, the US strongly opposes him being returned to Libya.

Again, I fail to see how this qualifies as "terrorist sympathizer". I was not aware that 'Don't do X' actually meant 'Do X'.

AHHHH and this is a false argument the North Sea is FULL OF OIL and Scotland has lots of drilling rights for it in its territorial waters. It has been in production for 40+ years and will continue to be for another many more to come

Even though your link does not say that I know that is what was said...but you left out the fact that the White House preferred release on compassionate grounds if anything. Get that through your head.
Now if Obama had some balls about it he would not have said if anything about on compassionate grounds. Compassionate grounds for a fucking terrorist.
