Well....he was compassionate about it. You know, all that touchy-feely-stuff that give liberals a warm fuzzy feeling inside.

would have to do a lot more research on this situation to understand wtf is happening here. They don't just willy-nilly release bombers for fun.

I'm not one bit surprised but I'd like to see more sources of this information.

Oh who didn't see this coming. I mean who blows up an airplane, kills a bunch of people, and gets out of jail because he's dying? You're supposed to die in jail when you do that. No doubt there were some serious backroom dealings. I wonder what we got out of it?

Just reading about the trial on wikipedia...it sure sounded like a shit-show trial. One FBI agent even stated they don't think they could have indicted based on the evidence used in trial.

But it doesn't surprise me that our government will bow to corporations and their money.

But it doesn't surprise me that Obama will bow to terrorist organizations and their money.

                  Fixed that for you...

You're a fool if you think that Obama is the only one bowing to the corporations and the money.

And this whole thing has nothing to do with liberalism so the title is misleading. It should be "Ok Obama supporters, defend this one".

                      You sure about this one?

The US government publishes a letter sent to First Minister Alex Salmond before the release of the Lockerbie bomber.

"The US is not prepared to support Megrahi's release on compassionate release or bail."

"The letter said the US could not endorse the release of Megrahi on any grounds"

Why yes I am sure. Thank you for your concern.

The note added: "Nevertheless, if Scottish authorities come to the conclusion that Megrahi must be released from Scottish custody, the US position is that conditional release on compassionate grounds would be a far preferable alternative to prisoner transfer, which we strongly oppose."

The document, acquired by a well-placed US source, threatens to undermine US President Barack Obama's claim last week that all Americans were "surprised, disappointed and angry" to learn of Megrahi's release.

The US has tried to keep the letter secret, refusing to give permission to the Scottish authorities to publish it on the grounds it would prevent future "frank and open communications" with other governments.
