Kinder and gentile and WAR dont go together.

Sucks but people that dont deserve to DIE or get hurt when it happens. This is why there is has not been a clear and Decisive victory in armed conflict for over 60 years. No one wants sack up and do what has to be done to achieve it. Make the populace cower in fear as a whole and you will break a determined enemy. its what was necessary to bring Japan to surrender.

You want to see an end to the insurgency in the sand boxes. B52's 100 of K's of 5000lb'ers and start leveling cities that support and hide the enemy. give the civilians 24 hours notice to get the fuck out and then flatten it. Keep it up till the will of the insurgents to fight is gone.

Maybe you forgot mentioning the "rightousness" of these conflicts. Fighting for the "freedom" of the same civilians that it is now found "acceptable" to count as casualties of war..

        Oh shut the fuck up.

Straw man arguments that you barely stand behind. You just posture and proclaim as if you're so above it. Anyone that differs from you, you slap on "ignore".

        Painful ignorance.

It strikes me as odd that you seem to be of the opinion, and I may be wrong, that because these poor excuses for human beings, which exist on all sides, in every country, in every province, in every society, are what all of the American armed forces are?

            Mmm.
I don't think that's the point he is trying to make.
I think he was trying to show that there are bad eggs in the us armed forces and that just because they fight for our cubtry they are not all perfect people. That they are capable of murder. Purposeful or accedental.
I have friends in the armed forces. My best budy is in the air born.

It's gonna get funny today as Wiki Leak is releasing this week 7 times as many "embarassing" pages of confifential reports from American diplomats. For the past two weeks, the US diplomats have called their foreign counterpart to try to cushion the impact. So, who's to blame? The diplomats who goofed? Or the media that disclose the info about the diplomat who goofed?

"Going by the report, it sounds like the next release could be the world affairs equivalent of accidentally sending someone a text message with you insulting them when it was meant to be read by someone they hate.

The US is warning ally nations about the sensitive information about to be released, which could see US diplomat expelled from other nations.

A State Department spokesman said Wednesday the release of confidential communications about foreign governments probably will erode trust in the United States as a diplomatic partner."-CBC

I'm of two minds on this.

On one hand I'm enraged at the facts that may be released that will get our folks on the ground killed and informants for us exposed.

On the other hand, I LOLing at the .gov trying to backpedal about the underhanded and immoral shit that they do every day as SOP. If a crapload of bureaucrats and politicians loose their jobs, I'll be smiling.

Sadly, this is 100% correct. Militaries have two purposes, and two purposes only: kill things and break stuff.

As concerned as I am that the information released will harm this country and/or our soldiers, I am very happy to see this information coming to light and those responsible for it about to be held accountable. I can think of very few situations where transparency in government is a bad thing.

I don't see these leaks as a productive way to help anyone do anything needed to fix the ills of what goes on between countries.
If anything it will actually feed a fire to start wars.
