More Police Excessive Use of Force - Denver

I fully think for the bulk of the police force need to be armed with a rubber stick and nothing else. No tazer, no gun, no club, no pepper juice, no fucking nothing. Would force them to use their heads and negotiation skills rather than brutality. I bet we would see a ton less of this shit.

Not all cops disarmed just be like the UK where only a small has a weapon.

I don't think that's the solution.
I'd like to see them get some hardcore suck it up training.

NO it would not, it would force them to respect the people they are dealing with. It would force them to be civil and not hide behind a gun, tazer, and a good ol boys network of badged thugs.

Shit like this keeps up the people will push back and there will be lots of dead and injured cops and agents of the state all over the country

Your right I dont, I have been offered lots of money to live in such places, and I turn it down with batting an eye every time. I will not live in a place that will restrict my right to protect my self and restrict what I am allowed to carry or even own at all to do so if needed.

Like I said NOT all COPS, ones that need to be armed IE places where they are shot at all the time by criminals, and a small percentage of the rest of the patrol guys.

I did, and that's why I moved to where that wasn't the case. People need to vote with their feet.

If Denver drops 25,000+ residents, the city pocketbook will understand why. I can't understand why people stay in a place they don't like/agree with.

I hate to rule with an iron fist. I've been very relaxed in the past. But it's time, that alot of the high school behavior to leave. Alot of us are feeling this way. And i'm here to keep order. And in this case here, "Cop bashing". Well we have members that are cops, we have members that know cops, we have members that are related to cops. Now just because some cops are abusing thier job. No need to bash the whole profession. So now i step in to keep order.

I though I was fairly clear that is what I meant, and how I felt about it. That my points are amid squarely at those types of individuals show in the video in the OP, and those types of cops more and more prevalent in society, not a blanket statement over all of them. I guess my caveats were not clear enough.

That sounds great but please make sure you properly differentiate between healthy criticism and trolling. A thread criticizing cops and police brutality should not automatically be off limits.

DENVER - A Denver resident tossed around like "rag doll" by two Denver police officers in Lower downtown, a dog owner beaten in broad daylight and an inmate killed inside the Denver County jail: They are just some of the disturbing events that forced Safety Manager, Ron Perea, out of a job. Now Mary Malatesta is landing in the hot seat.

Malatesta was sworn in as the new Manger of Safety inside the Denver City and County building Wednesday afternoon. Mayor John Hickenlooper, Congressman Ed Perlmutter, police and fire officials welcomed Malatesta with thunderous applause.

Malatesta told FOX 31 she will not stand by the decision of the former Safety Manager but take a "fresh look" at the cases involving alleged police brutality and discipline the officers if necessary."

She said she wants the community to know, "if we are finding problems in the system we want to fix them." Malatesta said she is "convinced the public will provide me the information to fix their concerns.

Perea was forced to resign after he failed to fire two police officers caught on camera beating Michael DeHerrera in Lodo. Perea stood by his decision to dock the officer's pay. The public outcry that followed prompted Perea to resign his position.

The internal affairs department has re-opened two alleged police brutality cases. Malatesta said she will decide if the officers should be disciplined after the investigations are completed.
