I don't know what kind of small world you live in, but there is very little correlation between one's political views and their intelligence quotient. I know many smart liberals and conservatives as well as many dumb liberals and conservatives.

For instance, I don't hate Socialism because I think people that believe in it are borderline mentally handicapped, I hate Socialism because as a system it's proven to be unsuccessful.

Even Castro is speaking out against the Cuban system he created, granted his system is more Communist than Socialist, but they both follow "collectivist" patterns of thought.

On average, states which vote Democrat tend to have a higher average IQ than those who vote Republican. Though all of those studies need to be taken at face value as the data provided isn't ideal.
