No surprise, people try to sterilize everything nowadays. I still believe that not being a paranoid clean-freak is better for your health in the long run. I don't wash my hands 1487 times a day or use Purell hand sanitizer every time I blink, yet I rarely ever get sick. I'm pretty sure you have to exercise your immune system to keep it strong and up to date but who knows, I'm no doctor pushing Purell out the ass. Works for me though.

I almost never wash my hands (other than after I use the can or are really dirty) and NEVER get sick, and dont use that sanitizer shit either. When I do get some thing thats going round an knocking everyone into the dirt for a a week, I get it for a day 2 tops, and then right back to it.

I'm the kind of person who accidentally drops food on the floor in my kitchen and I use the 10 second rule and definitely eat it; not throw it away, wash my hands, then pray that I don't get salmonella. I wash my hands after working on my car, going to the bathroom and going to the gym, and when I put my contacts in and THAT is it. I haven't seen a dr. in 5+ years; pussies go to the dr. NIGHTQUIL Cures everything.

This was my uncles theory. He went to the ER for pneumonia a couple of years ago. He had to have emergency surgery and he never woke up. When they cracked his chest they found that he had stage 4 colon cancer in his lungs, lymph nodes, liver, etc. I guess the bright side is he never even knew he had cancer. Needless to say, he died on the table.

Sounds like your uncle was a real man.

My friend with terminal liver cancer is 29. They gave her a month over 7 months ago. Any day now...

If you want to see some interesting stuff on healthcare costs, look at how much cheaper healthcare is in Europe. ;)

Exactly. When I get a good cut working on something, it never gets infected. And I haven't had the flu since I was a little kid.

IIRC there have been a couple studies that show that the kids of those obsessively clean moms actually spend a lot more time sick than 'regular' kids.

They are all also on the brink of bankruptcy, even the powerhouse of Germany is scrambling to figure out how to fund programs for their ever aging population that will retire at a rate that outpaces the incoming workforce and then becomes a greater annual burden on the state than they MADE during their time in the workforce. Now more of a burden than the taxes they paid, more than they MADE.

Those social programs worked fine after the world war when people were fucking like rabbits so you had 6 kids coming into the workforce for 2 parents and people were consuming less of the program (no MRIs) and dying younger. Now people are living longer and taking advantage of things that the systems can not support all while asking one kid entering the workforce to cover it.

"They" are not on the brink of bankruptcy. A couple nations; Spain, Greece, are. Germany, your "powerhouse" is expected to be just that. They're going to see their lowest unemployment in 20 years and are expected to grow 3.5% next year. Everyone has taken a hit. Germany is probably one of the nations rebounding from it the quickest.

Dude Europe is running away from socialized healthcare. They can't afford it.

What is up with you Kasas people? I'm putting you guys on my list along with Oregon and Canada. I'm going to write a letter to my senator and ask him to send a letter to the moderators to kick you guys out of here.

                              1. The CATO institute is a libertarian think-tank... what view do you think they're going to take?
                              2. Nobody is advocating for a nationalized health plan/payer in the US.

you really do have a hard time seeing between the lines, or at least seeing where things could lead with just a little critical thinking and common sense applied dont you.

And yes CATO is a libertarian deal, why dose that discredit what they have to say??????? Libertarians are more middle of the road than anything
