I was asking for evidence about the lobbying $ claim. As I stated before, it swings back and forth. Whichever party controls Congress gets more lobbying $ because they have more members there to be lobbied and make votes. It's that simple. Right now it's the Democrats, from 1994 to 2006 it was the GOP, before that the Dems, and so on....

Those emails from the UK? The organization was long ago cleared of any scientific wrongdoing - it just didn't happen to make as much noise as when those emails were discovered.

The overwhelming majority of scientific communities/groups/academies/societies accept anthropological behavior as a cause of global warming. Granted it's just Wikipedia, but...

"No scientific body of national or international standing has maintained a dissenting opinion; the last was the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, which in 2007 updated its 1999 statement rejecting the likelihood of human influence on recent climate with its current non-committal position.[2][3] Some other organisations also hold non-committal positions."

As I said before, I'm not talking about global warming, so why are you posting these links? They have nothing to do with the conversation. Why would you post a link to the climate action network? That isn't relevant in any way, shape or form. You're just throwing out links hoping people will think they're evidence to support your wildly inaccurate claims without actually clicking on them.

BTW My previous post described campaign funding for a Republican senator, but it also applies to a Democrat senator. The point is that as long as campaign support is not limited to individuals, your senator's agenda will not necessarely be to represent the voters. The debate about global warning was not the focus of my post, just an exemple of economic interest into politics. ;-)

Resource amounts will be commensurate to the level of public office in question. No one may use personal funds or resources or ANY resources not specifically provided them by the election committee.

Step two: Eliminate all private lobbies. The Constitutional provision allowing the constituency access to their representatives can be fulfilled without the need for private lobbyists. One vote, one voice. Exception: No corporate lobbying except by persons representing entire industries and only then for purposes of educating representatives about regulatory challenges, etc, and no gifts to politicians. In order to create trust in governmental processes, the average American taxpayer needs to feel their voice will be heard, not run over by corporate special interests.

Step three: End all corporate welfare. It is socialist(!) to allow for-profit corporations access to taxpayer funds for the purposes of further enrichment.

Step four: Sit back and enjoy the best government not bought in 2 centuries.

                Ain't gonna happen, though.....

Are you asking about lobbying altogether or lobbying for GW?

My point about lobbying was rhetorical...I thought that would have been obvious...

fixed that for ya. Fannie and Freddy made up a small fraction of the loans out there. It was the private sector that really took the whole thing down.

Again misinformed. Fannie and Freddie are backing/securing something like 92% of U.S. mortgages right now. Next it was the govt (ahemm Fannie and Freddy) that backed all the sub primes. It was the CRA and subsequent legalization and revisions that pushed and forced the Banking industry to loan a greater percentage of their balance sheets to sub primes. Then with the limitation of risk IE.. Govt through the Mac's backing and securing those risky assets, Greed took over and the rest is, as we say...................History

ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME, SWEDEN IS ONE OF THE HIGHEST TAX COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD.

You have to be on crack to think other wise, the median income bracket (or just over 58k US) is taxed at like 54% Marginal and upwards of 60% for the top bracket and THATS JUST THE INCOME TAX . PLUS a 25% VAT on most things other than unprepared foods at 12%. and who knows how many other taxers are built into everything else before you get to the VAT (IE. FUEL and ENERGY)

In the US or top brackets are taxed at just below 50% marginal income but those are the wealthiest .1% making Multiple Millions per year. Not the middle class scraping by on 50k a year.
